Chick-fil-A partners with Wentz AO1 Foundation
RIDLEY TOWNSHIP » Chickfil-A restaurants throughout the greater Philadelphia area, including the Ridley Township and Springfield locations, will partner with the Carson Wentz AO1 Foundation and donate $1 for every #1 Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich Meal purchased on Friday, May 11.
“When someone as gifted and successful as Carson Wentz chooses to take their spotlight and focus it on helping those in need, it should be an inspiration to all of us, explained Dave Bonner, community relations, Chick-fil-A Ridley. “It’s an honor for our restaurants to have the opportunity to partner to help support his foundation.”
The Carson Wentz AO1 Foundation was launched in 2017. Its mission is “to demonstrate the love of God by providing opportunities and support for the less fortunate and those in need.” As stated on the AO1 website, “Whatever he does in life, Carson is living for an Audience of One (AO1) — Jesus.” The AO1 Foundation’s main three objectives are to provide food, shelter and educational opportunities for underprivileged living in the United States and abroad; to provide hunting, fishing and outdoor opportunities for individuals with life-threatening illness, physical challenges, the underserved or US vets; and to support the development of individuals by providing service dogs to help increase their quality of life.
Team member James McIntyre, an employee of the Ridley Township Chick-filA, said that he enjoys working at Chick-fil-A because it is all about giving back to the community. He is looking forward to Friday’s promotion.
“Carson Wentz helped all of his fans out,” McIntylre remarked. “And now it’s our turn to help him and his foundation out!”
Fans can post a picture with their #1 Chickfil-A Chicken Sandwich Meal on May 11, along with the hashtag #carsonloveschicken, for the chance to win two tickets to the AO1 Charity Softball Game Friday, June 1, at Citizens Bank Park. The inaugural Carson Wentz Charity Softball Game, benefitting the foundation, will kick off with a home run derby at 6:30 p.m. followed by the softball game at 7:30 p.m. The game will feature players from the Philadelphia Eagles competing on opposing teams composed of the Eagles offensive and defensive lines, led by Jordan Hicks and Carson Wentz, who will do a live draft.
In addition, the familyfriendly event will feature a silent auction with items such as autographed apparel, autographed gameday memorabilia and experience packages. Foundation and event merchandise will also be available for sale.
