SPRINGFIELD SPEEDS

Why don’t the police in Springfield do something about the car and trucks speeding on the 200 and 300 blocks of Powell Road? With the nice weather finally here and the children playing outside, someone can get seriously hurt.

HAPPY DAY

For all of Trump’s shortcomings, I’ve got to say that pulling out of the Iran deal on V-E Day made me want to get on the back of a giant bald eagle and fly around waving an American flag.

FREEDOM TO CUSS?

People who believe in freedom of speech, I would just like to know if that means that parents and friends that are older can talk bad language around children? We constantly hear it, parents using the F-word and every other word around their children. It’s called freedom of speech; does that mean you can use speech in that way?

QUAKING IN OUR BOOTS

Thanks to “Freind The Idiot” for proving everything locally what “Here Come The Death Panels” and Chris Freind were saying. I think everyone knows what “neuro-degenerative” means, but “Freind The Idiot” doesn’t know what a foreign government offering immediate citizenship and the Vatican willing to foot the bill means. This is why the thought of nationalized health care is so frightening. Doctors and nurses like “Freind The Idiot” who have completely lost touch with the human side of the medical profession and fancy themselves all-knowing technocrats and arbiters of value judgments on human life would rather euthanize people because it’s easier than allowing willing participants to seek experimental treatment that, while there’s a slim chance it would help them personally, could further medical and scientific knowledge.

SAY GOODBYE, LISA

So Lisa Page wants to resign from the FBI. Some of Comey’s advisors are also leaving the bureau. Duh. Did they finally realize they did something wrong?

BETTER THAN BOB

Our Sen. Bob Casey voted against confirming Mike Pompeo as Secretary of State – how irresponsible, blindly partisan, how stupid. Given the major and historic breakthrough with North Korea and the potential for disarmament and peace, Sen. Casey would rather be an obstructionist for lasting achievement. Bob Casey is a weak and shallow puppet for Corey Booker and Chuck Schumer. The great commonwealth of Pennsylvania can and must do better.

MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN

I saw on the news several days this week footage of potholes being fixed throughout Delaware County. They show you a fellow scooping some stuff off the back of the truck and another gentleman standing there beating it down into the ground. In my opinion, that’s pitchypatch work. The previous governor of Pennsylvania put a tax on gasoline that we all remember and we’re all paying. That money is supposed to go toward repairing our roads and our highways. I think for the amount of money that the state collects, they could do much better job than pitchy-patch work – in my opinion.

TRY HALF

To all the callers saying people over 70 shouldn’t have to pay school taxes: I agree, but asking officials to cut out 100 percent of school taxes from a group of people would not work. Maybe if they would ask him to lower it to 50 percent, maybe they would at least at that. Losing 100 percent of the school taxes from people over 70 wouldn’t happen.

AIR TIME

I saw in the Sound Off where a call was talking about the old days when he used to watch a program called “Double Chiller Theater.” It used to come on late at night. There was also programs on there at that time called “The Late Show” and “The Late Late Show.” If memory serves me right, TV used to go off the air at that time. Can you imagine? TV went off the air. Try doing that today with the Internet.
