FORGET ABOUT FACEBOOK

Call me old fashioned, but I don’t think Facebook thank yous are the appropriate way to go these days. I know its old school, but people do appreciate a handwritten or even a printed thank you note when going to bridal showers and baby showers and birthday parties. Just getting a mass, blanket thank you on Facebook is not appropriate. OLD SCHOOL

JOHNNY’S BOY

Johnny Doc’s letter in the Sunday Times was a huge insult to our intelligence. Of course his boy Lazer has no ties to Delco and will do only his bidding in Congress. Forget about us! By the way, 30 years ago, Charlie’s Hamburgers was in Springfield, not Folsom. Your $200,000 war chest should have bought better “intelligence.” Good luck to the true Delco candidates today. BAIL TIME

I see where the Supreme Court has ruled all bans on sports betting are null and void. This is wonderful. Now when the people do this to excess and lose their houses, their savings, divorce or whatever the case may be with their family, I guess the taxpayer is going to foot footing the bill for the welfare programs to take care of them. I say no; let them shine shoes somewhere or let them carry bags at a supermarket. Stop bailing people out for their own mistakes.

TO TELL THE TRUTH

After reading “The Con Game” refer to the newer high schools as the Taj Mahal, I thought of something: I’d have more respect for some of these school boards if they came right out and said the new high school would be modeled on the Taj Mahal, the Hagia Sophia or some other world famous architectural work. After all, honesty is the best policy. CYNICAL TAXPAYER

STAY HOME, PHILLIES FANS

To all Phillies fans: Please don’t go to any games that the Phillies don’t televise. If enough people go to the games that are blacked out, they will black out more games every year. I love the Phillies, but I can’t afford to go see them. I’m a widow on Social Security. Please don’t go to the games. JEANETTE G.

DONNIE SCORES AGAIN

I agree with calling noting that Trump pulled out of the Iran deal on V-E Day – very nice. I find it interesting that rather than siting down and negotiating or discussing or asking for a meeting with the president or any other diplomatic solution, the Iranians immediately burn an effigy of the American flag. Personally, I think pulling out the Iran deal is one of the finest things next to North Korea that he’s done so far. God bless Donald Trump and God bless the United States of America. He did it good.

PARTY OF HATE

I hope people realize now the Democrats couldn’t care less about the damage inflicted on this country. The only thing they care about our this president has accomplished more in a year and a half than Obama did in eight. I’m not going to resort to name calling; I’ll leave that to the Dems – they’re really good at it. The Democratic Party platform for 2018 and beyond should be, “We are the party of hate, resistance, intolerance and character assassination.” THE ASTON OBSERVER

THE RICH GET THEIRS

The editorial in the Times about fair funding for public schools just points out the fact that Republicans want it this way. They only want rich people in this country to get an education. They don’t want poor people to get an education; it gives them an advantage.

THE IMMORALS STICK TOGETHER

The fact that no Trump supporters have actually come out and try to defend Trump and say that he does have morals and character and ethics would suggest that these people know that he doesn’t have any of these traits and that they don’t care. And if you don’t care that your president has no character, is immoral and unethical, then that means that you have no character, are immoral and unethical too.
