Marple man charged with child-porn offenses
MARPLE » A township man was arrested this week on charges of possessing and disseminating child pornography, including images of children as young as 6 to 10 years old.
Daniel Fisher, 59, of the 400 block of Lyndhurst Drive in the Broomall section of the township, is charged with three counts of dissemination, five counts of possession and five counts of criminal use of communication facility, all felonies of the third degree.
“Individuals who share and possess child pornography directly contribute to the horrific exploitation of innocent children,” said District Attorney Katayoun Copeland in a release. “Those who engage in this criminal behavior here in Delaware County should be forewarned that our (Internet Crimes Against Children) Task Force is actively working to locate and arrest these perpetrators who further the victimization of children.”
Fisher had been developed as a suspect through an investigation into peer-to-peer file sharing programs used for the distribution and sharing of child pornography, the release says.
Delaware County detectives Kenneth Bellis, Edmond Pisani, Edward Kazlo and John Hoffner served a warrant at Fisher’s residence Aug. 3 with Forensic Analyst Brian Knowlton and Marple police, according to the release.
Investigators seized a Dell desktop computer during the search, which allegedly contained images and videos of child pornography, including a close-up image of a naked female child estimated to be between 6 to 10 years old.
Detective Christopher Tankelewicz additionally uncovered videos depicting children ranging in age from 10 to 14 years old, some of whom were exposed, bound or tied down, and sexually abused, according to the release.
Fisher was preliminarily arraigned May 14 and released after posting 10 percent of $75,000 bail. Bail conditions include no contact with minors and Internet use only for personal administrative functions. A preliminary hearing has been set for June 18 before Magisterial District Judge Robert M. D’Agostino.
