GARNET VALLEY DOES IT AGAIN

They just laid off people to subcontractors to save money. Now the Garnet Valley School Board gives the teachers a raise, and the excuse for the raise and the taxes is they need to pay for the pensions. When and where are they going to start saving money? ANGRY IN BETHEL

WHY WE STINK

This is how much this is society has messed up – this week there was a man on “NBC Responds” who lost his leg, couldn’t get health care to help him out to save his leg, and yet they’re all worrying about this stupid royal wedding. This is how messed up our whole society is in this country and it’s going to get worse.

TAKE OUT THE TRASH

How appropriate – a new candidate for Republican governor of Pennsylvania who’s a lifelong trash removal expert. That’ll work. DRAIN HARRISBURG

DO-NOTHING DONNIE

“The Aston Observer” doesn’t seem to observe much, trying to say that Trump did more in a year and a half than Obama didn’t eight years. That is ridiculously untrue statement. Trump hasn’t done anything at all for our country during his time in office. Except … no, wait, his tax cut wasn’t for the country, just for the rich. So he’s done absolutely nothing to help our country, while Obama actually took an economy that was on the verge of collapse and got it straightened out with no help from Republicans whatsoever.

THE OBAMA NIGHTMARE

To “The Aston Observer,” I don’t think fair to say Trump has done more in a year and a half than Obama did in eight; Obama did a lot of horrible things for our country. Despite being an erratic loudmouth in his personal behavior, I’ve been surprised by Trump being pretty solid when it comes to actions on policy. I’ll take over Obama being a milquetoast poseur on legislation and policy, all the while inspiring the far left fringe in this country.

WED AND WED AGAIN

I don’t know why people get worked up over these royal weddings. Now that the British Royal Family is OK with divorce, it’s not like they’re going to be such rare events anymore. CHARLES FROM LONDON

THEFT IN GARNET VALLEY

Garnet Valley has to raise their millage the most that they have in years. They give the teachers all that money out there. Three percent a year for five years straight; that adds up to about 16.1 percent over five years. I wish somebody give me 16.1 percent more money over the next five years. And not only that, the benefits come to two-thirds of what the salaries do annually. Wow, how about that? “We don’t care. We’re going to take your money and nothing’s you can do to stop us.”

FORGET FAST EDDIE

The Times had a seriously well-written article about Scanlon’s victory on Tuesday in the very crowded 5 District Race; however it is not quite a slam dunk. According to the numbers that the Times ran, yes, she was the clear winner with over 16,000 votes, but the people who came in on the second and third place together totaled more than her 16,000. And if she ever has any hope of winning in Delco, she might not want to keep being endorsed by Ed Rendell, who was the worst mayor of Philadelphia. I lived under his reign, and he was a pretty lousy governor.

MISPLACED PRIORITIES

The actions by teachers in North Carolina and Arizona are another example of how corrupt Republicans are. They have no problem giving billions of dollars in tax cuts to the richest people in the country, but they have no money to fund educating our children.

WAGNER’S THE WORST

Republican voters in Pennsylvania have again proven either how stupid or corrupt they are by voting for Scott Wagner to run for governor. Scott Wagner was the absolute worst choice anyone could make to run for governor in our state.
