29, Muhlenberg College held its annual Honors Convocation designed to honor and celebrate leadership and scholarly excellence and achievement. The awards recognize select members of the faculty and student body for their contributions to the College, to their peers and to their disciplines.
Pierce Lockett of Drexel Hill, Class of 2019, received The President’s Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement and Promise for Postgraduate Work by a Junior. It is awarded to up to three juniors who, by grade point average and competition are deemed competitive for prestigious postgraduate awards. The successful candidates will have written excellent proposals and interviewed successfully, the first steps along the way to submitting a proposal to foundations such as the National Science Foundation or Fulbright.

CANTON, N.Y. » Eleanor P. Stief of Swarthmore has named to the dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester. Stief is a member of the Class of 2019 and is majoring in performance and communication arts. Stief attended Strath Haven High School. To be eligible for the dean’s list, a student must have a minimum 3.6 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

CHESTER » Tulsi Patel of Folsom servied as student speaker at the university’s May 19 undergraduate commencement. She is the 2018 recipient of the President’s Award, given annually to the senior who has contributed the most to campus life through scholarship and participation in extracurricular activities. The President’s Award recipient traditionally serves as the ceremony’s student speaker.
Patel is the daughter of Kirti and Jagruti Patel of Folsom and a graduate of Ridley High School. Patel pursued a double major in biomedical engineering and computer science, and a double minor in mechanical engineering and mathematics. She has accepted a position as a computer systems validation engineer at Integrated Project Services (IPS) in New Jersey.
