Emily V. Hannigan (nee Castracane)

CLIFTON HEIGHTS, PA

1948 - 2018 Emily V. Hannigan (nee Castracane) age 69, of Clifton Heights, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018 at home.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Josephine (nee DiSciullo) Castracane.

A graduate of Cardinal O’Hara High School, Class of 1966, she had been a resident of Clifton Heights for 45 years.

Emily has been a crossing guard for 33 years at the corner of Westpark Lane and Gramercy Drive in Clifton Heights.

She enjoyed bowling with her friends in the Hilltop Women’s League at Sproul Lanes on Tuesday nights. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, especially on the beach in Sea Isle City.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, George Hannigan, and her children, George Jr. (Stacey), Christina M. Hill (Ben) and Joe (Lindsay). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Colin, Morgan, Jerry, Lea, Tyler, and Shane; her sister, Joan Ford (Fred) and her brother, Frank Castracane (Carolyne).

Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Church, 651 E. Springfield Rd., Springfield. There will be a Viewing after 9:30 a.m. in church.

Interment SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
