Wayne S. Windisch of Brookhaven, Pennsylvan­ia passed away peacefully at Arden Courts of Wilmington, Delaware from complicati­ons related to dementia on Friday, May 18, 2018 at the age of 73.

Wayne was born and raised in Chester, Pennsylvan­ia. He graduated from St. James High School in 1963. He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. Wayne worked at the Sun Oil Refinery in Marcus Hook, retiring in 2004 after 35 years of service.

Basketball was one of Wayne’s passions. He played and coached basketball and was an IAABO Referee for more than 25 years. He could figure out and fix just about anything that came his way. He was proud of the fact that his children called upon him for household projects and problems. He looked forward to the summer so that he could spend his vacation with his family in Avalon, NJ.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wendell and Stella Windisch, and his sister, Barbara Rendsland.

Wayne is survived by his high school sweetheart, Nancy, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage, as well as his children, Matthew Windisch and his wife Teri from Doylestown, and Amy Jaross and her husband Neil from West Chester. He is also survived by seven grandchild­ren; Marissa, Erin, Ryan, Brendan, Michael, Brady and Rachel; and his brother, Wendell Windisch.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 23rd at 11:00 a.m at The Church of Our Lady of Charity, 231 Upland Road, Brookhaven, PA 19015.

Visitation: Wednesday, May 23rd from 9:3010:45a.m. at the church.

Interment: Edgewood Memorial Park.
