WELL, WELL ...

I would just like to thank the cast and the members of the “Hello Dolly!” show that was put on by the Young People’s Theatre Workshop at the Players Club of Swarthmore. Those children did an excellent job and I want to give a special shout out to Brooklyn, who did a super job. Thanks for inviting me to the show.

MOM MOM SCHOOL OF THOUGHT

I’m reading in your Sunday Times that Rep. Dinniman says that one of the pipelines is 87 years old and is “carrying highlyvolatile compounds.” Where were the schools at? They weren’t there 87 years ago. I’m not saying I’m in favor of all this, but somebody is not saying the right thing. The pipeline was 87 years ago and the school is built next to it. Who’s at fault? Part of it is on the school district. I hope the Times has the nerve to print this because it will show that somebody else is wrong beside Sunoco.

JACK FROM ASTON NOT UNITED WE STAND

I was watching a business report on television where they were interviewing a farmer in California who is worried about the trade board and tariffs being put on their fruit and all. They always interview the farmers and they’re always concerned about the tariffs and possible consequence to their business, but I’ve yet to hear any of these reporters or any farmers say “You know, maybe I could get for a little bit for all the auto jobs that go north to Canada, south to Mexico, and those people actually paid taxes when there are subsidies not to grow stuff and farm subsidies to keep farmers’ feet above water.”

EXECUTIVE ACTION

“Seeing Things” was either asleep in junior high civics class or one of these leftist callers who doubles down and insults people when they’re wrong. The Department of Justice and the other major federal bureaucracies are in the executive branch. The running of the DOJ has nothing to do with the judicial branch. The fact that the Attorney General – a cabinet-level position – is nominated by the president might tip you off to this. Or, if you left-leaning callers are so smart, that fact that it’s called the “executive” branch, as in the branch tasked with executing the laws enacted by the legislative branch and ruled on by the judicial branch.

WHAT ABOUT TAXES?

I saw the story last week about McGarrigle and Killion bringing the Senate Appropriations Chairman to Morton to talk about workforce development. They had some good ideas on workforce development, filling skilled labor jobs, STEM education and so on. They were missing something, though: Dealing with these crippling property taxes. You can’t attract a workforce or business owners when they get taxed out of their house or machine shop.

BIOLOGY LESSON

To “Live Long And Prosper,” I have news for you, buddy: Don’t you know animals have offspring? And do you know how many seasons “Lassie” was on TV? Have you ever heard of puppies before, or baby porpoises? You must have not a common sense brain in your head, the way you talk. They had “Lassie,” “Flipper” and “Gentle Ben” on for how many years? That’s why – because their offsprings, puppies, baby purposes, baby bears.

HIPPIES IN HAVERTOWN

I just want to say that my wife and I are two proud hippies who are raising two hippie children. We just moved into Havertown and are proud to vote Democrat – rock on.

HIGH ON LIFE KOREA’S NOT FORGOTTEN

To “What About Korea,” sadly, they call it “The Forgotten War” for a reason. A few of my mentors growing up fought in Korea, and I always thank Korean War veterans when I see them. Rest assured that not all of us forget about it.

BLAME THE HOUSE

To “John From Glen Mills,” don’t forget that while Obama was spending like a drunken sailor, a GOP-controlled House held the purse for six of those years. We can’t put all the blame on Barry for that one.
