Jones does it all for Middletown

Bobby Jones had it going with his arm and his bat Monday night.

Jones picked up the win and paced the offense as the Middletown Lions held on for an 8-6 victory over Chester in the Delco League.

Jones allowed four hits, two runs and struck out six in four innings of work. He also had two hits including a triple and four RBIs. John Convery added two hits and one run scored, while Sean Heidig had a triple for Middletown.

Bobby Williams had two hits including a double for Chester. WAYNE 2, UPPER DARBY 1 » All the scoring was done in the first inning as the Blue Sox jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the inning and Wayne came run back with a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame.

Dan Williams and Tyler Kehoe stroked RBI singles for Wayne. That was more than enough offense for Tom Cockill to get the win with help from Kehoe. Cockill allowed four hits, one run and struck out three in four innings. Kehoe pitched the final three innings to get the save.

In the Intermedia­te EDCO League: SPRINGFIEL­D 12, CLIFTON 1 » Tanner Robinson hurled a complete game, one-hitter with six punch outs. Jake Baumann led the offense with a double and four RBIs. Jason Terzoglou added three hits and two runs scored.

Evan Moore followed up a no-hitter with a tidy five-hitter with eight strikeouts. Second baseman Tommy Dee was involved in seven outs. Dane Greisiger and Darien Pass knocked in one run each to pace the offense for the Wolves. Basketball

Gavin Connelly poured in 14 points to pace A&A Custom Signs to a 29-21 victory over Kovacs Funeral home in the intermedia­te division of the West Laurel Hill/Springfiel­d summer basketball league Monday night.
