Spratt’s big bat leads Narberth to Delco League win

Sean Spratt continued to rake, his sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth inning breaking a tie to lead Narberth to a 3-1 win over Marple Newtown in the Delco League Tuesday.

Richie Tecco tacked on an RBI in the sixth to give reliever TJ Chism the win courtesy of a clean sixth inning. Joe Ravert worked the seventh for the save. In Main Line Senior Legion:

WAYNE 12, NORWOOD 2 » Evan Moore scattered three hits over seven innings, not surrenderi­ng an earned run, and scored three times to help his cause. Jack Dougherty went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored, and Evan Johnson contribute­d a two-run single.

Youth Softball

Pitching in three Carpenter Cup games wasn’t enough for Ameenah Ballenger Monday.

Ballenger struck out 10 in a 10-inning classic later that evening, leading Aldan II to a 9-8 victory over Chichester in the Del Val Girls Junior Division championsh­ip.

Nev Cunliffe drove in Emily Westerfer with the game-winning run on a groundout in the 10th.

Diving

Meghan Lynch cracked 200 points with a score of 211.10 to win the senior girls division and lead Ridley to a 31-13 win over Knowlton in Delco Diving League action.

Shane Eckler and Kayleigh Kennedy helped Ridley sweep the junior division.

Knowlton got wins from Vladimir Puskovitch, who tallied 193.75 points in the senior boys competitio­n, and novice Julia Weld.

RIDLEY PARK 32, SPRINGFIEL­D 13 » Mario Costa’s score of 154.95 in the senior boys category capped a clean sweep of the five titles for Ridley Park. Joey Weber (novice), Ashley Deprinzio (junior girls), Cody Hollenbach (junior boys) and Trinite Conover (senior girls) also claimed victories.

Softball

Spotting Brothers Pizza six of the first seven runs Tuesday didn’t slow down Ron Porter Browns, who rallied to take a 12-6 win in the Brandywine Valley Senior Softball League.

Ernie Devlin and Bob Blair pounded out three hits each for the Browns, who rapped 20 hits, and Dan MacDonald quelled the Pizza bats to get the win. GOSHEN BEVERAGE 10-5, UNITED SPORTS 9-4 » Barry Devine did the pitching as Goshen gulped down two extra-inning victories. Jack Schoen and Bob Shemonsky had five hits apiece. In Suburban Women’s Slow-Pitch: APPCO’S SPORTS WORLD/DUKE’S 12, CASEY’S 2» Kristen McFadden went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored, and Danielle Fagan had two hits, three RBIs and two runs to back winning pitcher Vicky Pecunia. Brigid Shehan added three hits and two runs.

Basketball

Connor Cahill led a balanced offensive effort with nine points as Chick-fil-A topped Slack’s Hoagie Shack, 37-28, in the Intermedia­te Division of the West Laurel Hill/Springfiel­d Summer League.
