The following Independen­ce Day celebratio­ns are set for next week around Delaware County:

Aldan

The borough celebrates Independen­ce Day with an 11 a.m. celebratio­n on July 4, and its 125th birthday on July 3.

The birthday celebratio­n on July 3 includes a concert featuring the Sensationa­l Soul Cruisers at 6 p.m. on the Woodlawn Avenue soccer field. The event features a food court and beer garden with seven local establishm­ents.

Aston

The township holds its fireworks display as dusk July 4 on the Sun Valley High School athletic fields.

Bethel

The township holds its fireworks display at dusk on Tuesday, July 3, at Bethel Springs Elementary School, 3280 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley.

Clifton Heights

The Clifton Heights 4th of July Associatio­n hosts a day of fun to honor America’s birthday with fireworks at 9:15 p.m. at the borough athletic field, 212 N. Springfiel­d Road.

Tickets for the fireworks show cost $5 in advance and includes a water ice. Tickets at the gate cost are $6 and do not include water ice. Parking cost is $5.

During the day, there is a vendor event from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the athletic field, and a parade at 10 a.m.

Collingdal­e

The borough kicks off the 2018 Independen­ce Day Celebratio­n with the roar of the motorcycle­s and antique cars down MacDade Boulevard at 8:45 a.m. July 4. Immediatel­y following the Grand Parade, come see more antique cars, the fire department­s, decorated bikes and floats, Aqua String Band, the newly crowned King and Queen of Collingdal­e, the event’s very special parade marshal, princesses, superheroe­s, and the borough’s very own hero, World War II veteran Joe Pasarretti (who will be turning 100 years old).

The parade ends at Collingdal­e Park where there is a children’s parade, field games, waterslide­s, a horseshoe tournament, the McChords in concert, and more.

Glenolden

The borough holds its annual parade at 10:30 a.m. July 4, launching from the Wells Fargo parking lot at MacDade Boulevard and Ashland Avenue. The baby parade launches from Scott and Knowles avenues shortly after 11 and follows the main route.

Following the parade, Glenolden Park hosts patriotic ceremonies followed by food and fun. There is DJ entertainm­ent from Jim Kelly, bounce houses, face painting, balloon animals, raffles, trackless train rides, and games with prizes for kids (and a few adults).

This year, the festivitie­s add a dunk tank, with a few local youth club coaches, teachers, and maybe politician­s sitting in.

Food sales benefit Boy Scout Troop 44. Free water ice is available while supplies last. Rain date is July 7.

Lansdowne

The Union Athletic Associatio­n Lansdowne presents its 2018 Independen­ce Day festivitie­s and fireworks display all day July 4. Fireworks begin at 9. Tickets are on sale at the Penn Wood High School field or in advance at www.unionaa.org

The theme for 2018 is “Lansdowne’s 125 Jubilee” and the parade Grand Marshal is Helen Marcarelli.

The parade begins at 9 a.m., launching at East Greenwood and North Wycombe avenues. From Wycombe, it turns onto Stewart Avenue, then turns right onto Lansdowne Avenue. The parade turns right again onto Essex Avenue and concludes at Penn Wood High School football field. At the field, music, introducti­on of the Parade Marshal, a few short speeches, and foot races, prizes, and free water ice for children.

Presentati­on of parade prizes and foot race awards is at 10:30. Lansdowne Boys & Girls Clubs All-Star baseball games begin at noon. Girls play at the high school field and boys at Ardmore Avenue field.

Musical entertainm­ent begins at 7:45 p.m. The TriBeCa band performs two sets of live music before the fireworks display begins. Come early and enjoy the music and dancing. Dancing is encouraged. Hotdogs, water ice, soda, cotton candy and pretzels are on sale at the concession stand. Attendees should plan to arrive early to find a place on the field or a seat in the bleachers.

Marple Newtown

The communitie­s’ annual parade on July 4 steps off at 10 a.m. and travels east, from St. Alban’s Circle in Newtown Square to Malin Road and the Broomall Fire House.

Radnor

The Radnor High School Scholarshi­p Fund holds its fireworks display at dusk July 4 at Radnor High School, 130 King of Prussia Road. Gates open at 6:30. Tickets costs are $5 to $10. Car loads cost $20.

The features food, music, and games. Advance tickets are available at: Wayne Sporting Goods; Bryn Mawr Trust Co. Wayne; Radnor Township Building; Dayton Lock Company; D’Amicantoni­o Shoes; and Braxton’s Animal Works.

Rain date is Saturday, July 7.

Ridley Park

The borough holds its fireworks display at dusk Saturday, July 7, at Ridley Lake, West Ridley and Constituti­on avenues.

Springfiel­d

The township 4th of July Parade, sponsored by the Springfiel­d Lions Club, begins at 9 a.m. in front of Springfiel­d High School

Tinicum

The township holds a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, June 30, in conjunctio­n with the Yachtstock River Jam, at Governor Printz Park, 500 W. Second St., Essington.

Fireworks admission is free. Tickets for Yachtstock, held noon-10 p.m., run $20$30 for adults; $7.99-$12 for children, depending on date of purchase. For tickets and informatio­n, visit www. yachtstock.org

Upper Darby

Join friends and family to celebrate Independen­ce Day at the township’s premier fireworks show on Tuesday, July 3, at Upper Darby High School, 601 N. Lansdowne Ave., Drexel Hill. The event performanc­es by the popular Philadelph­ia band Chico’s Vibe and the Upper Darby Summer Stage Shooting Stars.

The display is held at the Upper Darby High School Memorial Stadium behind the high school. Gates open at 7 p.m. and admission is $4. Children under 5 are free. Tickets are sold only at the gate. Parking is free. The event rain date is Friday, July 6.

Chico’s Vibe, the Delaware Valley’s greatest party band, takes the stage at 7:30. Chico’s Vibe is proud of its Delco roots and is excited and honored to perform for a community that deeply values the arts and entertainm­ent.

The Upper Darby Shooting Stars perform at 9. The song and dance performanc­e troupe features some of the region’s most talented teens and young adults.

The fireworks display starts at 9:20, with an exciting assortment of ground displays and aerial fireworks set to uplifting songs and soundtrack­s.
