-

Danny Sullivan pitched six spectacular innings to help UDHL capture the District 1 Babe Ruth 14-year-old title with a 5-2 win over 21st Ward.

Sullivan allowed only two hits and no earned runs while striking out four. Paul Morgan threw a spotless seventh inning to earn the save.

UDHL did all of its scoring damage in the fifth inning. Sullivan came through in the clutch with a two-run single, highlighting a 2-for-3 day at the plate. RBI singles from Shawn Webb, Kirb Rich and Colin Rimel gave UDHL more cushion on the scoreboard.

These UDHL players are accustomed to winning big games as it’s the same squad that won a state championship in the 13-year-old division last summer.
