Mekoue celebrates in style for Lansdowne

Kelly Mekoue celebrated her 14th birthday by breaking records and beating everyone she raced.

Mekoue set pool and team records in the 14-and-under butterfly (30.56) and backstroke (32.09) as Lansdowne defeated Springfiel­d, 275-202, in Delco Swim League A Division action. She also got first place in the individual medley.

Alex Chan (12U fly), Kayden Stokes (8U fly) and Gabe Green (12U individual medley) also went home with team records for Lansdowne.

Other triple winners for Lansdowne included Stokes (8U fly, back, free), Chan (12U fly, breast, relay), Jannah Rhyshek (8U fly, back, breast), Velina Diguey (12U IM, breast, free), Ashley Foppa (10U fly, back, free relay), Kylah Ward (10U breast, free, relay) and Carter Branigan (18U IM, fly, relay).

Springfiel­d received solid performanc­es from triple winners Ben Kutufaris (14U breast, free, free relay) and Emma Seifried (18U IM, breast, free relay). LAWRENCE PARK 275, KNOWLTON 183 » Pushing Lawrence Park to victory were triple winners Luiz Porto (12U IM, free, relay), Rose Huffman (14U IM, breast, relay), William Bochanski (14U IM, back, breast), Allison Stewart (18U IM, breast, relay), Matthew Bochanski (18U IM, breast, relay), Alexa Connor (12U IM, back, relay), Xander Wroblewski (12U fly, back, free), Sadie White (14U fly, back, free) and Julie Curran (fly, back, free). Curan broke the team record in the fly (31.04). John Connors of Knowlton set the team and pool marks in the 18U freestyle. In the B Division: HILLTOP 272, BRIARCLIFF­E 202 » Hilltop’s depth showed the way to a team victory as the lone triple winners were Jackson Graham (18U IM, fly, relay) and Jacob Muntz (10U fly, free, relay).

Addyson Despeaux (10U fly, back, relay), Ava Despeaux (12U IM, breast, relay), Gianna DePasquale (12U back, free, relay), Jonathan Sandone (12U back, fly, relay) and Grace Regan (14U IM, breast, relay) were triple winners for Briarcliff­e. RIDLEY TOWNSHIP 290, BROOKHAVEN 180 » Hunter Zimmerman (8U fly, breast, free), Chloe Hunold (10U back, free, relay), Madison Rae (14U IM, back, relay) and Kayleigh Kennedy (14U fly, free, relay) helped Ridley claim victory.

RIDLEY PARK 263, ALDAN 199 » Tyler Mantash set a pool record in the 10U butterfly (14.58) and was victorious in the breaststro­ke and freestyle events. Mantash was among five triple winners for Ridley Park, joining Matthew Murdock (12U IM, back, free), Wyatt Shanks (14U IM, back, free), Kevin Tanzosh (18U fly, breast, relay) and Brayden Saunders (8U fly, free, relay).

For Aldan, Maggie Shelton (12U IM, breast, free), Grace McBlain (14U IM, fly, relay) and Claire McBlain (18U IM, fly, relay) were triple winners. CREEKSIDE 282, CLIFTON HEIGHTS 158 » Leading the way for Creekside were triple winners Noah Plunkett (12U IM, back, free), Kate Blackburn (14U IM, back, free), Ethan Roberts (14U IM, back, free) and Andrew McLaughlin (18U fly, back, free).

Eight triple winners guided Nassau to a 231-190 decision over Folcroft in a Gold Division meet: Megan Rowlyk (14U IM, fly, relay), Lauren Grady (12U IM, breast, relay), Caroline Willoughby (12U fly,

free, relay), Liam Wettlaufer (12U IM, breast, relay), Mikey Tittermary (12U back, free, relay), Ethan Noll (14U IM, fly, free), Paige Shaika (18U back, free, relay) and Ethan Beck (18U fly, breast, relay).

Folcroft got three wins apiece from Julia Macauley (10U fly, breast, free), Caleb Macauley (8U fly, free, relay), Payton Rush (8U breast, free, relay), Ethan Jones (10U fly, free, relay) and Vincent Miani (8U back, relay, 10U relay).

Suburban League

Wyatt Hoke put on a show in Hidden Hollow’s 255-191 victory over Atlantic Coast last Tuesday.

The 8-and-under swimmer won the medley relay, backstroke, and freestyle. He broke a pair of team records in the back (19.53) and free (16.13). Proving he is ultra-talented for his age group, Hoke dominated against the older boys, too, taking first place in the 10-and-under butterfly to give him four wins on the day.

Hidden Hollow was led by seven other quadruple winners, including Evie Watkins (10U medley relay, back, breast, free relay), Sophia Murphy (14U medley relay, breast, fly, free relay), Grace Coughlin (10U medley relay, free, back, free relay), Lucy Townend (18U medley relay, back, free, free relay), Michael Greek (12U medley relay, breast, free, free relay), Jonathan Hoole (12U medley relay, back, fly, free relay) and Jimmy Greek (18U medley relay, back, free, free relay). Wyeth Cowan was a triple winner in the 10U back, breast and free. SWARTHMORE 248, PLYMOUTH 232 » Willow Huellemeie­r touched the wall first in the 8U medley relay, free relay, breaststro­ke and butterfly to pace the winning team. Jamison Soeiro (14U medley relay, free relay, fly, free) also claimed top honors in four events.
