Drug bust nets $54,000 cash, handgun and cocaine
YEADON » County detectives seized approximately
$54,000 in cash, a quarter ounce of cocaine, drug paraphernalia and a 9 mm handgun with two loaded magazines during a drug bust Friday.
Arrested during the raid on a home in the 700 Block of Cypress Street was
41-year-old Eric McFall, who was at his residence when members of the Delaware County Drug Task Force and officers from the Yeadon Borough Police Department served a search warrant.
McFall is facing charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of drug paraphernalia. He has been preliminarily arraigned and remanded to the county prison in Concord after failing to post 10 percent of
$250,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 6 before Magisterial District Judge Walter A. Strohl, according to online court records.
The arrest is the result of an investigation by task force members Detective Sean P. Brydges, Detective Jerry Scanlan and Lt. John Hamill of the Ridley Township Police Department, according to a release from Delaware County District Attorney Katayoun M. Copeland.
McFall admitted to officers serving the warrant that he had had cocaine, a large amount of money, new and un-used packaging material and a black digital scale in his residence, according to the release. He allegedly directed the detectives to locations around the house where he had stashed the items, including a dirty clothes basket, a Timberland boot and a winter hat.
In addition to the cash, drugs and firearm, investigators found a Rolex watch with an appraisal certificate of $15,000, two iPhones, a digital money counter and scale, and packaging material, according to the release.
McFall has prior felony convictions on his record, making him legally ineligible to possess a firearm, according to the release.
“Our CID Drug Task Force continually works to attack the source of illegal drugs and arrest dealers who profit from the weakness of those struggling with addiction,” said Copeland in the release. “Together with our partners in law enforcement, we will continue to aggressively arrest and prosecute individuals who are perpetuating the drug epidemic that is tearing families apart in our community.”
