Barbara A. Ward, (nee Sullivan)

Barbara A. Ward, (nee Sullivan), on August 27, 2018, the Lord called Barbara home to him.

She was a resident of Glenolden, Pa. and previously resided in Folsom, Pa. and Wilmington, DE.

Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Charles Russell and Abigail (O’Donnell) Sullivan and her husband of 43 years, James P. Ward, as well as their first born son, James P. Ward, Jr.

A loving mother she is survived by her children, Barbara Ward, James Ward III, Donna Sheridan, Susan Serpico, and Joseph Ward (Francis). She was a devoted mom-mom to Bethany, Samantha, Alexa, Emily, Sean and Abigail and a special friend to her pets/ grand-pets Phoebe, Lovey, Coconut, Charlie, Sheena, Molly and Sky.

Barbara was a former employee of Taylor Hospital, a graduate of St. Peter Business School and an active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Barbara was also a founding member of the Living Tree Charismatic Prayer Community. Together she and her husband also founded the LEAD (Learning Educating about Disabilities) Program in Philadelphia and had previously served on the Board of Directors of the Delaware County Special Olympics Program. She was also a co-founder of the Glendale Heights Family of Friends Group.

Barbara will always be remembered for her compassion and loving nature as well as her silly sense of humor and love for Christian music.

Her Life Celebration will be on Thursday, August 30,

2018 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 2130 Franklin Avenue in Morton, Pa. 19070 with a Viewing at

9:30 A.M. and her Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M.

Burial will be at Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery in Marple, Pa. at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Delco Special Olympics or to the Delaware County Advocacy & Resource Organization (formerly known as ARC of Delaware County) would be appreciated.
