Margaret A. Stewart, known her entire life as “Babe” (nee Bicchetti), age

90, of Boothwyn, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018.

Born and raised in Darby, she was a graduate of Blessed Virgin Mary Grade School and Darby High School, Class of

1947.

Mrs. Stewart was a longtime hairdresse­r who worked at Darby Beauty Shop and from her home in Darby.

She enjoyed crocheting baby blankets for all of her family and friends and was known to be the “Best Dressed” at any event she attended. She was an avid bingo player who most recently played at St. Eugene and Collingdal­e Seniors.

She was the wife of the late George Stewart, who passed away in 1991.

She is survived by her children, Peggy Gormley (the late Dennis), George Stewart, Jr. (Meg) and Marian McDonald (Michael). She is also survived by her siblings, Frank Bicchetti, Phyllis Cassidy, Anna Marie Flanagan, and Florence Bicchetti;

6 grandchild­ren;

1 great-grandson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Babe had many favorites, but was especially loved by Fran, Len, and Brian.

In the final days of her life, she was lovingly cared for by her sister, Florence (Bootsie), her daughter, Peggy, her granddaugh­ters, Kristen and Jenna, and her grandson-in-law, Tom O’Hagan.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass 10:15 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 1101 Main Street, Darby. There will be a Viewing Wednesday evening 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Thursday morning after 9:00 a.m. at Marvil Funeral Home, 1110 Main Street, Darby. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
