Genevieve “Jean” Abbott (nee Ricci)

Genevieve “Jean” Abbott (nee Ricci), 86, passed away peacefully at Riddle Village Monticello House on August 25, 2018.

Born in Bryn Mawr Hospital on August 18, 1932 and raised in Conshohocken, PA she graduated Conshohocken High School in

1950. Jean raised her family in Trainer, PA where she was an active member of the former Resurrection of Our Lord parish and school. She and Bud then moved to Springfield, Delaware County where she joined St. Francis of Assisi Parish. She most recently resided in Riddle Village, Media PA.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband of

50+ years, Howard “Bud” Abbott on August 15, 2008. She is survived by her 3 children, Elizabeth (Bill), Tom (Patti), and Michael (AnnaMay), 5 grandchildren: Laura, Noelle, Christopher, Erica, Caroline, and one great grandchild: Sadie. Jean is also survived by three brothers John Ricci (Mary O’Brien), Monsignor Philip Ricci, and Francis Ricci (Joanne) and many nieces and nephews.

Jean was a devoted wife and mother and will be missed dearly by family and friends. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, 8/29 at St. Francis of Assisi Parish,

136 Saxer Ave, Springfield PA at 11 am with a Viewing beforehand at 9:30 am (no viewing the prior evening). Burial will be at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Broomall, PA following the mass. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the American Red Cross of Eastern PA, 2221 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA
