PennDOT announces road work, closures in Delco
Delaware County motorists can expect to encounter a few areas of concern this week.
Double lane closures are scheduled on northbound and southbound Interstate
95 between the Chestnut Street and Edgmont Avenue overpasses in Chester, from
10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning to rehabilitate eight bridges over I-95 and CSX Railroad in the city. The work schedule is:
• Monday, September 24, northbound I-95 right and center lane closures;
• Tuesday, September 25, northbound I-95 left and center lane closures;
• Wednesday, September
26, southbound I-95 left and center lane closures; and
• Thursday, September 27, southbound I-95 right and center lane closures.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has also scheduled lane restrictions from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. on two state highways this week as part of an ongoing improvement project to repair and resurface 10 miles of state highway in Delaware County.
That work schedule is:
• Radnor, Wayne Avenue between Lancaster Avenue and Conestoga Road, Sept.
16 through Sept. 21 for milling and paving; and
• Chadds Ford, Creek Road between Rocky Hill Road and the Chester County line Sept. 16 through Sept. 21 for milling and paving.
Other roadwork taking place this week will occur in the following areas: Marple
• West Chester Pike, single lane closures in both directions between the Interstate
476 Interchange and New Ardmore Ave. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 24 through Sept. 28 for excavation. Tinicum
• 2nd Street/4th Avenue, lane restrictions with flagging between Poulson Avenue and Iroquois Street, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays Sept.
24 through Oct. 19 for a water main extension installation.
