Veronica Mary Brennan

-

Veronica Mary Brennan, age 86, of Springfield, PA, passed away October

2, 2018 from complications due to COPD.

Veronica was born in Philadelphia on July 22, 1932, daughter of the late Martin and Veronica Doyle. She is predeceased by her sister, Ann Marie Minder. She grew up in the East Falls section of Philadelphia and became a lifelong Phillies fan from a very young age, having grown up so close to Shibe Park (later known as Connie Mack Stadium).

Veronica graduated from St. John the Baptist High School in Philadelphia in

1950 and went to work for the Philadelphia Electric Company in 1956. It was there where she met a handsome young attorney whose shoes caught her eye for all of the wrong reasons, and whom she initially wrote off as being full of himself with his ‘flirtatious’ visits to her desk. Ronnie married Francis X. Brennan, Esq. on September 26, 1964, and they moved to the suburb of Springfield, PA where they promptly began establishing their family. Through the years, as their family grew, they enjoyed countless vacations and road trips with their children, including many summers spent in Ocean City, New Jersey. In later years, Ronnie and Frank would take several trips alone together, including two unforgettable tours of Ireland.

From 1986 through 2005, Ronnie worked for Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, Fox & Roach Realtors in Media, PA. Though her colleagues encouraged her to stay on for one more year to commemorate her twentieth anniversary with the company, she was resolute in her decision to retire after nineteen loyal years of service.

Those close to Ronnie remember her childlike innocence concerning anything off-color, and her complete inability to sugarcoat a truth. She never minced words and always conveyed her feelings unequivocally with her signature ‘non-poker-face’. She loved to watch Turner classic movies and Phillies baseball, and also enjoyed listening to ‘oldies’ music from the 1950’s. In particular, the soundtrack from her favorite movie, Dirty Dancing, would have her dancing enthusiastically around the house while ironing or folding laundry. She leaves behind a plentitude of much-loved ‘Mom maxims’ and pearls of wisdom that her family will never forget. With her generous spirit, big heart, and spunky personality, she created a loving home filled with fun, laughter and decades of beautiful memories for all who knew and loved her.

Veronica was happily married to her husband Frank for 32 years until his death in 1996. She was the devoted mother of Dr. Francis (Tina) of Broomall, PA, Veronica DiFrancesco (Michael) of Romansville, PA, Patrick (Barbara) of Glenolden, PA, and Maureen Tomey (Keith) of Landenberg, PA. She was also the beloved “G-Mom” to her seven grandchildren: Michael, Zoe, Joseph, Carly, Daniel, Sara, and Miranda.
