How to get around Delaware County this week

Eagles fans can catch a free ride home from today’s game against the Vikings on SEPTA’s Broad Street Line.

Free rides from NRG Station will begin at 6:30 p.m. and end at 10:30 p.m. The free-ride-home program is aimed at offering a safe and convenient post-game travel option for fans, according to a release from SEPTA. Regular fares will apply for all Broad Street Line travel to the game, however.

SEPTA will also add service for the game with 10 “Sports Express” trains running on the Broad Street Line in addition to regularly scheduled trains today. The Sports Express service will run every 10 minutes from Fern Rock Station from 1:35 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. Fans will also find Local and Express trains waiting for them at NRG Station after the game.

The Pennsylvan­ia Department of Transporta­tion has announced that motorists in Delaware County can also look forward to these scheduled road projects throughout the week: Radnor

• Wayne Avenue, lane restrictio­ns with flagging between Conestoga Road and Highland Avenue, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 8 through Nov. 15 for gas main replacemen­t.

Springfiel­d

• Woodland Avenue, overnight lane restrictio­ns between Baltimore Pike and Sproul Road, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Oct. 7 through Oct.

13 for milling and paving.

• During the closure, motorists will be directed to continue south on I-95, exit at U.S. 322 East/Commodore Barry Bridge, follow signs for Route 291 (Chester), take Route 291 North (2nd Street), make a left on Madison Street, right of 6th Street and left of Morton Avenue to access Chestnut Street.

Marcus Hook and Lower Chichester

• Market Street, single lane between Ormand Street and 11th Street, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 8 through Oct. 12 for undergroun­d utility work. Radnor, Haverford and Marple

• Southbound I-476, left lane closure between the Lancaster Avenue and U.S. 1 from 10 p.m. to

5 a.m. Oct. 7 for guide rail repair.

Overnight lane restrictio­ns are scheduled this week on three state highways in Bethel, Upper Chichester, Lower Chichester and Chadds Ford as a part of a project to repair and resurface more than 11 miles of state highway in Delaware County.

The work schedule is:

•Oct. 7, lane restrictio­ns from

6 p.m. to 6 .a.m. on Pyle Road between Wilmington Pike and Naamans Creek Road in Bethel for base repair;

• Oct. 7 through Oct. 9, lane restrictio­ns from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Chichester Avenue between Market Street and Concord Road in Bethel, Upper Chichester, and Lower Chichester for milling operations;

• Oct. 8, lane restrictio­ns from

6 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Foulk Road between Conchester Highway and Concord Road in Bethel for base repair;

• Oct. 9, lane restrictio­ns from

6 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Ring Road between Ridge Road and Baltimore Pike in Chadds Ford for paving operations; and

• Oct. 10 and Oct. 11, lane restrictio­ns from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Ridge Road between the Delaware State line and Wilmington Pike in Concord and Chadds Ford for paving operations.
