Delco Halloween Parade rescheduled for Sunday in Media
MEDIA >> Those hoping for the scare of their life Saturday will have to hold their horses for one more day.
Saturday’s wet, stormy forecast has forced officials to postpone the 54th annual Delaware County Halloween Parade until Sunday.
The parade will step off rain or shine Sunday at 1 p.m. in downtown Media.
Bands, mascots, floats, marching units, Scouts, antique cars, homecoming queens, clowns, cheerleaders and other imaginative groups, as well as countless costumed individuals and families, will line up on State Street and parade through the streets in the center of Media to celebrate the fall season.
The parade will be about one hour long.
The parade, sponsored by Pro Tree Services, is coordinated by Town Talk Newspapers and the Delco News Network.
On parade day, participating group leaders should check in with the parade officials at the intersection of State and Edgmont streets, Media, no later than 12:15 p.m. Groups will be told where to stand until it is their time to march. No registration is necessary for individual marchers.
The parade will form at the school field, starting promptly at 1 p.m., and proceed west on State Street.
This free community event bans politics and hidden agendas. It’s all about family fun and allowing everyone to either entertain or be entertained throughout the parade route.
For safety reasons, participants are asked not to throw candy at the staging area.
