Bark in the Park at Rose Tree Park postponed until Nov. 10

It’s going to rain cats and dogs Saturday, so you can keep yours at home.

The annual Bark in the Park, sponsored by the Providence Animal Center, has been postponed until Nov. 10.

Everything else will remain the same, just delayed a couple of weeks.

The day kicks off with a dog-friendly 5K Run at 10 a.m. followed by a 1-mile walk at 10:45 a.m.. While dog-friendly dogs are encouraged, they are not required to participat­e in the events. Registrati­on opens at 9 a.m.

After the walk, attendees can expect dog contests hosted by WIP’s Spike Eskin and Al Morganti along with FOX29’s Sue Se- rio; a vaccine and microchip clinic from

11 a.m.-1 p.m.; food trucks; nail trims; a puppy kissing booth; face painting for kids and paw painting for your dog; a raffle and an Ultimate Philly Sports Package raffle, which includes tickets to the Eagles-Cowboys game on Nov. 11; as well as Sixers, Flyers and Phillies season 2019 tickets.

Pre-registrati­on for the walk/run and dog contests is available at Providence­AC. org/Bark. Medals will be awarded in the

5K for the quickest female and male in each age group. Dog contest categories include Best Kisser, Best Lap Dog Over 50lbs, Best Ears, Best Costume, Best Tail Wagger. Medals will be awarded for gold, silver and bronze in each category.

Event sponsors include McLoughlin Plumbing, Heating and Cooling, Connelly & Moore Wealth Management, Citadel, Pet Supplies Plus - Woodlyn, ASD, WSFS Bank, Law Offices of Sand Gibbs, Stoney Creek Veterinary Hospital, Tait Weller, Maturo Sugar Artistry LLC, TechGuides, Merck Animal Health, Tobin’s Feed and Seed and VCA Animal Hospitals. All proceeds from the event will support the rescue and care of the animals at Providence Animal Center, including their latest Hurricane Michael rescue of 50 pets from Florida.
