- Staff Report

Penn State-Brandywine last week promoted Bobbi Caprice as its new director of athletics.

Caprice has been a member of the PSU-Brandywine athletics staff since graduating from the school in 2013. The Marple Newtown alum previously served as Brandywine’s assistant athletic director.

“I’m extremely excited and honored to be appointed athletic director at the campus that has meant so much to me personally for the past nine years,” Caprice said in a press release. “I’m so proud to be part of a program where the No. 1 priority is to ensure our student-athletes are succeeding in the classroom and have the tools they need to do well in college and beyond.”

Since Caprice joined the athletics staff in 2013, Brandywine’s teams have won 18 PSUAC championships. She began her tenure as a recruiting coordinator, while also overseeing the fitness center, student workers and the intramural program.

Caprice was an assistant coach for the basketball teams that won back-to-back conference titles in 2016-17 and 2017-18.

During the last five years, Caprice has been instrumental in Brandywine recruiting over 200 studentathletes. According to the press release, Brandywine currently has its largest athletics department in school history, with over 100 student-athletes competing in 16 varsity sports.

During her undergraduate days at Brandywine, Caprice was a 1,000-point scorer for the women’s basketball team and a recipient of the John S. Egli Award during her senior year as the top student-athlete in the Penn State University Athletic Conference. Caprice also was a member of the volleyball and cross country teams. Caprice
