Rescheduled ‘Bark in the Park’ ready to go Saturday
Providence Animal Center will host their annual Bark in the Park Dog Walk/5K and Fall Festival Saturday at Rose Tree Park, in Media, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The event was postponed from its original date of Oct. 27.
The day kicks off with a dog-friendly 5K Run at 10 a.m. followed by a 1-mile walk at 10:45 a.m. While dog-friendly dogs are encouraged, they are not required. Pre-registration for the run and walk is available online at ProvidenceAC.org/Bark for a limited time. Registration is available the morning of the event, starting at 9 a.m.
After the 5K, attendees can expect dog contests from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. hosted by WIP’s Spike Eskin and WMMR’s Steve Morrison along with FOX29’s Sue Serio, who will be a special guest for the Best Costume contest — so don’t put those Halloween costumes away just yet.
Other dog contests include Best Kisser, Best Lap Dog Over 50lbs, Best Ears and Best Tail Wagger. Medals will be awarded for gold, silver and bronze in each category.
The day includes lowcost a vaccine and microchip clinic for cats and dogs from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., food trucks, nail trims, a kissing booth, activities for the kids and paw painting for your dog, a vast raffle and an Ultimate Philly Sports Package raffle, which includes tickets to the Eagles-Redskins game on Dec, 3, Sixers, Flyers and Phillies tickets.

Event proceeds support the rescue and care of the animals at Providence Animal Center.
