The title of my Sound Off in Quotes is ‘The Democratic Times.’ I have known for years that the Daily Times is nothing more than the local propaganda wing of the Democratic Party. I could state many stories they printed over the last two years to prove my point but I will focus on the latest. Here we are Veterans Day 2018 and the lead story on the front page is about American heroes both past and present - but it isn’t. It’s about a week-old election pouring salt into wounds of true American heroes - our veterans. I find this and the Democratic Times disgusting and we’ll find other sources for my local news. LEAF IT ALONE

I’d like to sound off about the rain we’re getting and all the leaves coming down out of our trees. Be careful on these wet leaves, they can be like driving on ice. You can really be hopeless on it and helpless. HAPPY MOTORIST ON MORTON

BIRD BRAINS

Awesome. I got mine today. It came in, I had the Cowboys and seven way to go Eagles. You live down to my expectations. This is a memo to All-Pro wannabes Zach Ertz and Carson Wentz. When it’s fourth down and the game is on the line and you need a touchdown you got to get to the firstdown marker. You should be telling each other that. Make sure you get to the marker.

NOTHING DOING

My prediction for the next two years for Congress. Nothing, nothing will get done, absolutely nothing. They won’t be working for the people, they will be trashing Trump, making him unelectable in 2020. We’re gonna turn the Congress into the Jerry Springer Show, fighting and carrying on every day. Terrible.

NO HOLIDAY

I personally think that it is a disgrace that children have school today on Veterans Day. They have off on Columbus Day and they have off on MLK Day. I think it’s just a disgrace. These men and women fought for our freedom and the kids don’t have school so they can get attend all the parade, but it’s great.

TRUMP TALK

Another example of how unfit Trump is for office he says there’s shouldn’t be a recount in Florida, we should just go by the election night’s results. What kind of idiotic thing is that to say? Well it’s the kind of idiotic thing Trump says all the time.

ARTFUL DODGER

I understand a lot of service people are Republicans. And so therefore they support Trump. But I want to ask them how can they support someone who is number one a draft dodger. Number two who said horrible things about a real war hero, John McCain. This is not a person that should be admired by service people.

MEDIA CRITIC

This is in reply to everybody’s corporate town in Sunday’s paper. Oh yes, just blame the Republicans. I can’t believe that you called in to Sound Off. If you were born and raised in Media you would know that everything is Democratic except the courthouse. They are ruining the lovely town of Media, if there is an empty lot there’s a house on it and look at the ugly condominiums around Granite Run Mall. Just look at all that traffic. Thank you, Democrats.

RAKING IT IN

At Upper Darby, they requested you don’t rake the leaves into the street for fear blocking up the sewers. For years I put the brown paper bags and the plastic bags, whatever they requested you do in the yearly pamphlet they hand out, but as I ride around here looks like somebody’s building bunkers in leaves and the township does nothing about it. So far as I’m concerned God made the trees God, made the leaves and wherever they go they go. Tired of raking.

TAXED OUT

I see where Tom Wolf is considering 17 new taxes on Pennsylvania. One of them is a meat tax. Believe it? A meat tax and gas and oil tax. These callers that complain about 10 cents a gallon? Wait until Tom Wolf gets a hold of you. You won’t have anything left.
