Elaine Marie (Kopecky) Sweeney

Elaine Marie (Kopecky) Sweeney, born on October 15, 1949 in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, passed away at age 69 on November

17, 2018 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Elaine touched the lives of co-workers and patients as a Registered Nurse at Crozer-Chester Medical Center for over 38 years. From the Burn Center to the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Elaine’s sense of humor, talkative nature, and compassionate heart helped her provide care for thousands of patients over the course of her career.

Elaine’s big heart extended to caring for small furry creatures as well. Over her life, she had many beloved pet cats and dogs, and helped improve the lives of countless strays. She loved music, dancing, travel, and spending time with friends and family. She could never really explain what either of her children did for a living, but she was immensely proud of them. Her family in turn was extremely proud of her for earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing later in life, graduating in 2001 from Immaculata University.

She was the wife of the late Michael R. Sweeney and the daughter of the late Joseph S. and Antoinette R. Kopecky (Ondrusek).

Survivors: Children: Lauren M. Sweeney and Michael J. Sweeney; Sister: Yvonne Comito; and grandchild: Aurora Elaine Sweeney.

Visitation: Tuesday, November 27th 10:00 AM - 11:15 AM at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave, Aston, Pennsylvania, 19014. Memorial Service: Tuesday

11:30 AM at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home. Burial: SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
