-

Bailey Greenberg and Aubree Brown combined for 29 points, and Drexel turned in another solid defensive performance to down Siena, 51-39, in the opening round of the TD Bank Classic in Burlington, Vt.

Greenberg scored 17 points, including five in an 8-0 run in the third period that broke the game open. After Brown (12 points) hit a 3-pointer to give the Dragons a 2824 lead, Greenberg buried a triple and dropped in a layup in a 50-second span to extend the advantage to 33-24. The Saints never got closer than three points the rest of the way.

Drexel’s defense saw to that. The Dragons (3-1) held Siena to 31.8 percent shooting overall and just

20 percent from 3-point range to extend their winning streak to three games and advance to Saturday’s final against host Vermont, a 56-54 winner over Wagner in overtime. Tip-off is

Alliya Butts paced Temple (2-3) in the opening round of the Miami Thanksgiving Classic with

19 points, five assists and five steals. Sophomore Mia Davis added 13 points and nine rebounds but was limited to 22 minutes because of foul trouble. The Owls take on the No. 22/23 Hurricanes at 2 p.m. Thursday.
