Rita Honoria (nee Regan) Buchy, 93, of Ridley Township, passed away and went to her God on November 23, 2018. Born in North Philadelph­ia, daughter to Irish immigrant parents Michael and Nora Healy Regan. The Regans loved their childhood homes in St. Columba and Corpus Christi parishes. It was a home of music and laughter and love.

Rita was a 1943 graduate of John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls High School. She met Francis X. (“Bud”) Buchy on a blind date and were married in 1950. They moved to Milmont Park in 1953 where they raised their family. Rita was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish. Rita’s deep love of her Catholic faith, her family and friends, and her positive and energetic way will forever be remembered.

Rita was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 60 years, Francis Xavier (“Bud”) Buchy and her dearest daughter, Nancy. Rita was also preceded in death by her siblings, Anne Sharkey, Mary Fitzgerald and Rt. Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Regan, also Bud’s parents and her inlaws on both sides of the family.

Rita is survived by her children, Francis X. Buchy, Jr. (Sharon), Mary Bailey (Richard), Nora Savukinas (Joseph), Sharon McNulty (Charles), and Michael Buchy (Jean Marie), 20 grandchild­ren,

21 great-grandchild­ren, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Mass 11 AM Tuesday, November 27,

2018 at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, 208 Milmont Ave., Milmont Park. Visitation 6:30 to 9 PM Monday (tonight), at the WhiteLuttr­ell Funeral Home 311 N. Swarthmore Ave, Ridley Park and 9:30 to 10:30 AM Tuesday at the church. Burial SS Peter & Paul Cemetery. If you would like to wear a hat to the services, please do. Rita was known for her hats and she would love it!
