Bowling Green knocks off Drexel

BOWLING GREEN, OHIO >> Justin Turner scored 29 points and grabbed 11 rebounds with six assists and Demajeo Wiggins also had a double-double as Bowling Green defeated Drexel 81-71 on Sunday.

Turner made 11 of 19 shots, including 3 of 4 from the arc, while Wiggins had

16 points and 12 rebounds for his sixth double-double this season. Dylan Frey added 10 points.

Drexel led 45-43 at halftime after shooting 57 percent but plummeted to 22 percent in the second half.

Daeqwon Plowden tied the game with a basket that began a 12-0 run that left the Falcons (4-3) ahead

70-60 with 5:05 remaining. The Dragons closed to seven on Zach Walton’s

3-pointer with 56 seconds left but they didn’t score again with Turner making three free throws for the final score.

GRAND CANYON 82, LA SALLE 70 >> Damari Millstead and Alessandro Lever each scored 17 points and Lever added 10 rebounds to lead Grand Canyon in the seventh place game of the Wooden Legacy.

Millstead scored his 17 points off the bench. Carlos Johnson added 16 points.

Grand Canyon (4-3), bolstered by a raucous crowd, won its first game of the tournament as four players scored in double figures. The Antelopes were efficient as they shot 54.2 percent from the field.

La Salle went cold in the first half, not scoring for a stretch of 8:52 and Grand Canyon went on a 17-0 run to take a 25-9 lead. La Salle cut the lead to 7 points in the second half but would get no closer.

La Salle fell to 0-7. Isiah Deas led the Explorers with 22 points.
