Gene S. Rullo, 82, of Rose Valley, passed away unexpected­ly from complicati­ons of Parkinson’s on Nov. 23 at Crozer Chester Medical Center.

Gene was born in Philadelph­ia to Fred and Isabelle (nee Donahue) Rullo. He graduated from St. James High School and from Villanova University in 1957. After serving in the Army Reserves, Gene worked for Farm Journal for a time leaving to start his own market research business, Consumer/Industrial Research. That business lasted until Gene’s retirement ten years ago.

Gene was an avid sports fan, especially of Villanova and University of Delaware football and basketball. But, was devoted to his grandchild­ren’s games, school plays, and award ceremonies. Gene enjoyed spending summers in Avalon and walking the beach. He was fond of his beagles.

Gene was predecease­d by his parents and his brothers Ted and Steve. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Charlotte (nee Spong), his daughters Lisa (John) Tucker and Denise (Matthew) Savaiko, his grandchild­ren Christophe­r, Jacqueline and Andrew Tucker, Cassandra and Natalie Savaiko, his brother Fred (Madeleine) Rullo, his sister Carole (Tony) Abbott and his sisters-in-law Helen and Madge Rullo.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass on Friday Nov. 30 at 11:00 AM in St. John Chrysostom Church 617 S. Providence Rd. Wallingfor­d. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 to 10:45 AM. Int. SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.

Gene felt strongly about finding a cure for Alzheimer’s. In honor of his brother Steve, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Associatio­n. www.alz.org
