Drexel goes wire-to-wire again to handle La Salle

The Drexel women’s basketball team is developing a habit of never trailing in games.

For a third consecutiv­e contest, the Dragons led the whole way as they dominated winless La Salle Wednesday night,

58-43.

Bailey Greenberg matched her season high with 19 points and hauled in nine rebounds. Keishana Washington tossed in 14 points and Aubree Brown added 11 points, five rebounds and five assists for the Dragons

(5-1), who held a 38-26 advantage on the glass.

Cardinal O’Hara All-Delco Hannah Nihill, a two-time Daily Times Player of the Year, had a solid floor game with three points, three rebounds and two helpers.

VILLANOVA 67, PRINCETON 46 >> Adrianna Hahn bested all players with 17 points on 7-for11 shooting from the floor as the Wildcats (4-2) snapped a twogame slide.

Mary Gedaka registered a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards, while Bridget Herlihy chipped in with nine points, six rebounds, three assists and two blocks off the bench.

SCRANTON 65, CABRINI 51 >> Nomi Washington’s third 20-point effort this season wasn’t enough as the Cavs (2-4) fell to the host Royals in a rematch of last year’s NCAA Tournament second-round game.

Washington posted a gamehigh 21 points to go with a career-best eight steals and seven rebounds. Kate Lannon (Sun Valley) contribute­d 10 points. MESSIAH 69, WIDENER 66 >> The Pride (6-1) fell in overtime for their first loss of the season. Devan Rimmer poured in a teamhigh 19 points, and Erin Phelan produced 17 points and 11 rebounds. Madison Ireland (Garnet Valley All-Delco) finished with six points, seven boards and six assists.

INDIANA (PA.) 77, CHEYNEY 41 >> Marlon Herring scored teamhigh 17 points for the Wolves (05), who were outscored 32-9 in the third quarter and shot 14 of

46 (30.4 percent) from the floor.

Men’s Basketball

Michael Bowlers netted 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, and Darius Washington pitched in with 15 points and eight boards as Eastern trounced PSU-Schuylkill, 91-57.

Victor Pena (12 points) and Austin Duncan (11) also tallied double digits for the Eagles (5-1).

MESSIAH 73, WIDENER 62 >> The host Pride were done in by a hot shooting performanc­e by the Mustangs, who connected on 17 of 31 attempts from the floor in the first half. Connor Laverty led Widener with 17 points and seven rebounds. Elijah Boyd contribute­d 11 points. SCRANTON 90, CABRINI 80 >> Anthony Wright-Downing scored a game-high 26 points on 10 of 13 shooting from the field for the Cavaliers. Trey Smith and DJ Smith added 15 points apiece.
