Fire chases residents from Upper Darby apartment

UPPER DARBY >> Fire chases several residents from their township apartment Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

No injuries were reported. Fire broke out in an apartment building in the 8600 block of West Chester Pike just after noon. Initial reports said firefighters encountered heavy fire in the rear apartment. Everyone inside got out and no injuries were reported.

Fire crews were able to quickly bring the blaze under control.

There is no indication as yet as to what caused the fire. It remains under investigation.
