LOVE NEVER DIES
I was so glad to see the story about the couple who have been married over 70 years. Makes me feel really great. My parents met at the Great Leopard Skating Rink the same as this couple did, around the same time. They were married for 35 years had five children and a lot of grandchildren and had a good life together until my mother passed away at age 54 from cancer. My father lived on to be 85. They had a great life together. Thank you.
THE TAX SCAM
People this year are getting an average of 8 percent less of a tax refund than they did last year. What gets me is these people are actually surprised this is happening and they shouldn’t be. Republicans have made it a point to make sure that they do nothing to helps the middle class and the poor and everything they do benefits only the rich. If they were paying attention with the details of the tax bill when it came out they would have known that this was going to happen because it was in the details of the tax bill.
BRING ON MEDICARE
I have never heard anybody complain about the coverage they get from Medicare but when the Democrats suggest that we should have Medicare for everybody the Republicans say they don’t want to have Medicare for everybody because they like their private insurance. I am one of those people who has private insurance and I cannot wait until I qualify for Medicare because I’m tired of being ripped off by my insurance company with its outrageously high premiums and ridiculous copays. The whole idea that people want private insurance other than Medicare is a ridiculous assumption anyway. The only people who might want private insurance are the rich because they can afford to have the top insurance there is.
FOOL ME ONCE
This is “Best President Ever.” I guess if she was a retired college teacher I’m quite happy that my children never encountered her because she sounds like the biggest fool ever. That State of the Union speech was a campaign speech. It was full of lies as usual. Come on, lady, get a grip if you are real. Just saying.
COUGH IT UP, MIDDLETOWN
Hi, I’m calling in to support Gov. Wolf’s budget idea to charge municipalities for state police coverage. I don’t know why should I pay for our local police protection and then have to subsidize police protection for other communities, affluent places like Middletown Township. That just doesn’t seem fair to me. I’m sorry.
TIME FOR TRUMP TO GO
Trump is pushing for a shutdown again. Enough is enough. You can’t say, “Well, unless you do it my way I’m going to shut the government down,” which is exactly what he’s doing. I don’t care if he has the authority. It’s time to change the law; he shouldn’t be able to do that. That is ridiculous. It’s not a national crisis. This guy is a bully with too much power. LOVE STORY
The story of the couple married for 70 years made my day. That is the news that I want to see when I unfold my Daily Times in the morning. My dear husband passed away when we had been married 64 years. We were childhood sweethearts. Sure, we had our problems, like most couples do, but the important thing is we truly loved each other and enjoy many years together. Don’t count the days, make the days count. Bless you both. GARBAGE IN ...
I’ve been on this earth almost 90 years. I can’t believe the garbage that the Democrats in Congress are talking about, Then they expect to get anything done until the next election. Good luck to everybody.
