Chocolate, wine and history at Chadds Ford Historical Society Valentine’s event

As part of its Tavern Nights series, The Chadds Ford Historical Society will present “Colonial Courtship & Victorian Valentines” 7-9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15 at the Barns-Brinton House.Those looking to up their dating game will be pleased to learn the art of historic courtship while getting hands-on with history.

Guests will have the opportunit­y to watch chocolate-making demonstrat­ions, participat­e in an English country dance, delight in historical chocolate pairings with wine from the Chadds Ford Winery and chocolate samples from Neuchatel, while they create their own special paper cut Victorian Valentines and more.

Free concert of love songs comes to Ridley Township Library

RIdley Township Library and Resource Center will present a free concert of love songs 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13.The songs will be performed by Vincent James and Valerie West, who have both taken part in previous well-received concerts at the library. Vincent James has performed on stages all over the Philadelph­ia area and beyond, and also appeared and performed on countless shows, including The Jenny Jones Show, QVC, NBC 10! Show, Fox News/Philly, FOX’s Good Day Philadelph­ia and CN8 News. He is also the co-founder of “Keep Music Alive,” an organizati­on dedicated to promoting the value of music in our lives.

Valerie West has performed at venues such as The Hard Rock Cafe, Ardmore Music Hall, World Cafe, The Apollo Theater, The Trump Plaza and many other stages. All ages are welcome. Chester Senior Center offers dinner with love songs

Senior Community Services’ Chester Senior Center, and Aetna Heath will host a Valentine’s experience with the sounds of Luther Vandross performed by LaShaun Johnson and Band 6- 10 p.m. Friday, February 15, at 721 Hayes Street, Chester. Meet others while having Xscape Valentine’s fun

Looking for a fun and unique way to meet new people? Adults over age 21 are invited on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, for the first annual Xscape Valentine’s Day Adventure at Xscape The Room in Media. Participan­ts can start off with a mix and mingle in the atrium and enjoy beer, light fare and conversati­on with like- minded adults. People will break off into teams and play either The Speakeasy or The Classroom. Playing escape games together promote teamwork and communicat­ion while searching for clues and using them to solve riddles, problems and puzzles that will lead to the escape. Share the Love Fest IV to feature live music, food and more

The fourth annual “Share The Love” Festival of Our Community Cup Coffeehous­e is planned for 12:30-9:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Tree of Life Church, 933 Baltimore Pike, Springfiel­d. Everyone is welcome to the full day of live music, food and fellowship. Performers will include Danielle and Jennifer at 12:30 p.m.; Matt Santry at 1:30 p.m.; Every Heard at 2:30 p.m.; Ami Yares at 3:30 p.m.; Shakey Lyman at 4:30 p.m.;Jessica Graae at 5:30 p.m.; David Falcone at 6:30 p.m.; and Julia Levitina at 7:30 p.m.

Cost is a pay-what-youcan donation and all donors who give $15 or more will get a t-shirt. Food and drink will be available throughout the day, and any additional donations for food will be appreciate­d. The event will support solidarity and love and the programs of New Avenue Foundation, a 501(c)

(3) nonprofit charity. For four years, the New Avenue Foundation has been building community through Friday night music events for families and caregivers and people with different abilities to attend as a safe place to have fun, enjoy a meal with others, and listen to live music.

In addition, the Share The Love Fest will feature a Teddy Bear Mobile throughout the day, where people can make stuffed animals, a portion of the price of this goes to New Avenue Foundation. A local young woman, Jessica Kopaczewsk­i, will be doing face painting from

1 to 3 p.m. There will also be a raffle basket and 50-50 during the day. The emcee will be Erin Lopes, whose children Tom and Evee will perform between acts. The event is being sponsored
