Peters’ clutch free throws secure win for Widener
Trailing by two points, Arcadia sent Widener’s Jared Peters to the foul line twice in the last 12 seconds in the hopes of staging a rally to keep is undefeated record in the MAC Commonwealth Conference intact.

Peters hit 3 of 4 from the stripe to help the Pride hold on for a 71-66 victory that handed the Knights their first league loss of the season.
The Pride (14-10, 10-5 Commonwealth) used a
7-0 run early in the second half to break the game open and withstood every challenge Arcadia (204, 14-1) threw at it. The Knights never got closer than two points.
Connor Laverty paced Widener with 18 points, six rebounds and four assists. Peters contributed
17 points and five boards off the bench. Elijah Boyd pitched in with 12 points, did not eight rebounds, four and two steals.

Women’s Basketball
Widener tried but could not erase a 26-point, fourth-quarter deficit and fell to Arcadia, 67-54.
The Pride (18-6, 9-6 MAC Commonwealth) went on a 23-7 run to cut a 51-27 deficit with 8:06 to play in the game to 58-50 with 2:59 remaining. The Knights (11-13, 8-7) responded with a 7-0 burst to put the game away.
Devan Rimmer led Widener with 20 points. Nicole Barnes (Garnet Valley) had nine points, four rebounds and three steals in her first career start. Madison Ireland (Garnet Valley AllDelco) handed out four assists to surpass 400 for her career. The junior is only the third player in program history to reach that milestone.
