Student named to marketing honor society at Scranton

SCRANTON >> Elizabeth Kugler, of Springfiel­d, was among the University of Scranton students inducted into Mu Kappa Tau, the national honor society for marketing. The university’s chapter of the honor society was establishe­d in 2016.

Woodlyn resident to attain degrees from two colleges

Seamus Boyle, of Woodlyn, has been accepted to Washington University in St. Louis as part of a cooperativ­e engineerin­g degree program with King’s College (Wilkes-Barre).

Boyle recently completed his third year of studies at King’s and will attend Washington University the next two academic years. Upon successful completion of the program, he will earn a bachelor’s degree in physics from King’s and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineerin­g from Washington University.

Garnet’s Selena Garrett plays rugby championsh­ips

KUTZTOWN— The Kutztown University men’s and women’s rugby teams, including Selena Garrett, of Garnet Valley, participat­ed in the Penn Mutual Collegiate Rugby Championsh­ips from May 31 to June

2 at Talen Energy Stadium in Chester.

This year’s 16-team women’s field features defending champion Lindenwood University, who won the championsh­ip match last June over Penn State, 2112, to capture its first women’s title. Penn State also returns this year and is joined by the women’s sides from Army, Bloomsburg, Delaware, Drexel, Kutztown, Life, Navy, Northeaste­rn, Notre Dame, Queens University, Saint Joseph’s, Temple, Virginia Tech as well as the National Small College Rugby Organizati­on Selects Squad.

For the first time, the women’s championsh­ip field will be competing for the A. Jon Prusmack Cup. Kutztown will be in Pool D, along with NSCRO, Army and Northeaste­rn.

Becker College

WORCESTER, MA.— Adam Mitchell, of Wayne, and Brianna Wood, of Lansdowne, were named to Dean’s List at Becker College for the spring 2019 semester. The Dean’s List recognizes all full-time students whose term grade point average is 3.50 or higher with no grade below a B-.
