Disney’s ‘Frozen’ comes to stage at Neumann Univ.

ASTON >> Center Stage Production­s Summer Camps Series brings a chill to the Neumann University stage with Disney’s “Frozen Jr.” Thursday through Saturday, Aug. 1-3.

When their kingdom becomes trapped in perpetual winter, fearless Anna joins forces with mountainee­r Kristoff and his reindeer sidekick to find Anna’s sister, Snow Queen Elsa, and break her icy spell. Although their epic journey leads them to encounters with mystical trolls, a comedic snowman, harsh conditions, and magic at every turn, Anna and Kristoff bravely push onward in a race to save their kingdom from winter’s cold grip.

Center Stage Production­s is a part of the Arts Guild at Neumann University. The Arts Guild was establishe­d in 1991 to enhance the high level of cultural enrichment presented to the Delaware Valley Community. The eight-member organizati­ons — Center Stage Production­s, the Cultural Arts Forum, the Delaware County Symphony, Internatio­nal Ballet Classique, the Neumann University Arts Gallery, the Neumann University Concert Chorale, the Neumann University Jazz Band and the Neumann University Players —offer performanc­es and seminars in the Fred P. Meagher Theatre.

Performanc­es run Thursday, Aug. 1 at 7 p.m. and Friday, Aug. 2 and Saturday, Aug. 3 at 11 a.m. in the Fred P. Meagher Theatre in the Thomas A. Bruder Jr. Life Center. General admission is $8. Group rates available. For ticket informatio­n call 610-558-5626.

Schoolhous­e Center books trip to Broadway’s ‘To Kill a Mockingbir­d’

Schoolhous­e Center, 600 Swarthmore Ave., Folsom, is booking a trip to New York City’s Broadway “To Kill a Mockingbir­d” on Saturday, Nov. 16. The Cost is $232. Jeff Daniels is being replaced by Ed Harris, who starred in “Apollo 13,” “The Rock,” “The Truman Show,” “The Right Stuff,” “A Beautiful Mind” and more. The trip will include Orchestra side tickets, bus, and lunch at Planet Hollywood with choice of entrée and driver tip.

Ticket deposit of $140 must be received by Aug. 8. Limited spots are open. Adults of any age are welcome. A person does not have to be a member or senior to travel with the group. For informatio­n call Kim at 610-237-8100.

Cash bingo at Aston Community Center raises funds for library

The Friends of Aston Library will hold bingo 6-9 p.m. Saturday, July 27 at Aston Community Center, 3270 Concord Road, Aston. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. Admission is $25 and the bingo will have all cash prizes. Food, bingo supplies, special games and raffles will be available. No one under 18 will be admitted.

Watson teaches people how to network

Rhonda Watson, senior human resources at Sungard Availabili­ty Services, will present “Networking: Anyone Can Do It,” 7-8:30 p.m., Aug. 6, at Media Presbyteri­an Church, 30 East Baltimore Ave., Media. All are welcome to the free event, regardless of religious affiliatio­n.

Employment seekers should start networking before they need it. Learn how to get started on mastering the basics of networking, building connection­s and the art of small talk. Attendees will prepare and practice the elevator speech.

Disney’s ‘Inside Out’ featured in family-friendly movie night Thursday

Ridley Park Presbyteri­an Chuch on Swarthmore Avenue, Ridley Park, will present a free family movie night on the lawn 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 18. Rain date is Friday, July 19.

Media Theatre seeks youth actor for ‘Elf’

The Media Theatre will hold auditions for the part of Michael in their winter production of “Elf the Musical” on Monday, July 22 at 6 p.m.

Those interested should be prepared to learn the end of “There Is A Santa Claus” from the show. The music will be taught at the audition and, once learned, will be sung each auditioner. It is suggested to listen to the song prior to coming to the audition.

The rehearsals will run October-November, with the show opening on Nov. 15 and closing on Jan. 12.

Activities at Linvilla Orchards turn peachy beginning in August

Linvilla Orchards, 137 W. Knowlton Road, Middletown, will hold its annual Peach Festival Saturday, Aug. 3. Rain date is Sunday, Aug. 4. People can pick their own peaches from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Family fun activities will include games, hayrides, music, pony rides, face painting and more.

The event will be hosted by the one and only Silly Joe. He will entertain the kids singing and making the whole family laugh from 12 to 4 p.m.

Roasty Toasty will roast ears of corn from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Costumed characters making appearance­s will include Dr. Duck, Traveling Train, and Vet Girl. Harvest Ridge Winery will visit 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Visitors are encouraged to stop by to visit Linvilla”s barnyard friends, including white tailed deer, calves, goats, horses, ducks, birds, emus, peacocks, and a pot-bellied pig. The barnyard friends are out every day. Visitors can also take a train ride. The Allan Herschell 1865 Steam Locomotive travels around a one acre track near the Playland Playground.

Linvilla also offers fishing at Orchard Lake: Visitors can enjoy catching trout. Fishing rods and bait are available, and no fishing license is required. Everyone from first-timers to experts are welcome from 8 a.m.–7 p.m.

The Farm Market and Bakery at Linvilla Orchards’ Farm Market offers fresh produce, baked goods and gourmet specialtie­s for sale and the Garden features a colorful array of plants including annuals, perennials, fruit trees, shrubs, evergreens,vhome & seasonal décor, toys, gifts and many functional garden accessorie­s.

Linvilla has partnered with Ship Bottom Brewery to bring beers on site Satirdau amd Simdaus 12-9 p.m.,, weather permitting. Daytime fun includes Corn Hole and Giant Jenga.
