FEELING A DRAFT

To the person who was drafted and served in the military, yet wondered why people don’t talk about Obama and Clinton not going in the military but complain about Trump being a dodge drafter: Trump dodged the draft as many people did but they didn’t serve as president. Being a military person you should know the draft was ended well before Obama was of age.

SAD SACKS

Sad. I just heard Kapler say the reason we aren’t hitting home runs is because we are not lifting the ball enough Maybe the reason is the lift teaching. Not only are we not hitting home runs but we strike out a lot and has anybody taken note of how many pop ups we hit. Kapler and Klintak need to go! JOE FROM SPRINGFIELD

WHAT HE’S DONE

To “ARC From Wallingford” and “Bill from Broomall:” Since the two of you have asked me what great accomplishments our greatest president this decade has implemented, I am happy to inform you. Trump got the U.S. out of the Paris accord, He got America’s economy moving again by cutting taxes and erasing many of Obama’s anti-business regulations. Trump has turned our country into being a net energy exporter, approving the Keystone and Dakota pipelines and opening up federal lands for oil and energy exploration. Trump ended Obama’s disastrous Iran nuclear deal. He smashed ISIS that controlled much of the Middle East and now doesn’t control any territory. Despite total leftist opposition in having any border security he is enforcing Americas’ immigration laws. Because of him two tremendous conservative constitutionalists have been appointed to the Supreme Court. The U.S. stock market is at an all time high! Trump also has had our Israel embassy moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. We need to show our gratitude for Trump who did not need this job as president and has his salary given to charities. He truly loves our country! RIDDLEWOOD KEN

FREE THE ELEPHANT

In response to “Tusk Tusk” in Wednesday’s Sound Off, how you do know how harmless it is for an elephant to be made to march 30 minutes in an annual parade? Are you a pachyderm? This isn’t about politically correct cretins suppressing public desires. This is about realizing that animals (in particular, wild animals with complex emotional lives) are not here for human amusement, and about freeing that elephant from performing for us. BTW, just because much of “the public desires” something doesn’t mean that those desires are appropriate, moral, ethical, or legal.

NOW I GET IT

Thank you to Chris Freind for explaining how the real victims of racism in this country are white people.

STUCK ON SAXER

We’ve seen comments on the “new” Saxer Avenue in Springfield. The work is done and it looks nice. The effort to have a light button to cross for safety is noteworthy and appreciated. However, what are the commissioners and local police doing about the drivers cutting through the back of the township lot behind Wawa to avoid the Saxer/Powell road intersection? What are they doing about the speeders on Powell and those exiting the township lot? And why are they allowing a local auto repair shop to store cars and leave real parkers circling around the lot never to find a spot ... which is hurting the local businesses? God bless Saxer Avenue and America. GBA

CHECK YOUR FACTS

To “Trump 2020:” You accuse the Democrats of contributing to the national debt with their investigations. Ronald Reagan raised the national debt by 189 percent with his Reaganomics and military spending. Bill Clinton balanced the budget. George W. Bush raised the national debt by 86 percent with his unpaid for wars and tax cuts, and sent the country into an economic tailspin. Obama raised the national debt by 35 percent to save the country from a probable depression. Trump raised the debt by $1.2 trillion in six months with his tax cuts for the wealthy. Republican investigations into the Clintons cost the taxpayer $70 million and found no wrongdoing. The Mueller investigation cost $25 million and found plenty of crimes, including obstruction of justice, which would have landed a non-president in prison.
