BLAME THE NATIONALISTS

“Political expediency” are the words of the day for Donald Trump. He’s trashing white nationalists, even though one of his closest advisors. Steven Miller, is a white nationalist. Steve Bannon, another guy close to Trump, is another about white nationalist. But when white nationalism is harmful to him politically, sorry, he throws them under the bus. No surprise, but it’s not going to work because we all know about Trump’s rhetoric that makes these white nationalists go on these shooting rampages. He is guilty of pulling the trigger by encouraging these people to do what they did.

BLAME THE GUNS

Trump is trying to blame the mass shootings on mental health and video games. Maybe his supporters are stupid enough to believe that but the rest of us know the main reason why these shootings happened is the availability of guns in this country. There are 120 guns for every 100 people in this country and that is obscene. And the secondary reason is Trump has surrounded himself with white nationalists like Steve Bannon and his inflammatory rhetoric since he was a candidate for president, He’s encouraged these white nationalists to do what they’re doing, which is having mass shootings.

BLAME TRUMP

The shooter in El Paso wanted to kill as many Mexican-Americans as possible. Seven the mass shooters in the last year were white nationalists, Trump’s primary base. So Trump is to blame for these mass shootings because of his inflammatory rhetoric since he’s become president and even before he became president. This is all Trump’s fault.

BLAME THE PARENTS

The mass shootings in Texas and Ohio or horrible. These young men had more problems than you can imagine in some cases I blame parents. They don’t want to take responsibility for their children. All these video games are a problem too. It’s shoot, shoot, shoot. When will it end? Innocent people are dying Guns don’t kill people, people kill people. Cars don’t kill people. It’s people driving them.

BLAME THE ACCESSIBILITY

We use every excuse under the dun for the reasons for these shootings. However, they like everybody knows, the real reason is because of the proliferation easy accessibility of guns in this country. No other country in the entire world has a problem we have with guns and by not admitting this it shows how craven we are and how stupid we are because you keep denying the obvious. It’s sheer stupidity.

HAD HIS PHIL

I Think it’s time for a boycott of a Phillies game. The Phils claimed they would do anything to make us great again. Yet they did not get Kuechel for just money and made no real changes at the deadline when we really needed starting pitching. They keep blaming the players, but we know it’s bad coaching and management decisions. Our hitters pop up because of lift, our pitchers are taught to work high in the zone and then give up home runs and our manager knows nothing about baseball strategy. If Middleton can’t see a change is needed, maybe we need to force one! JOE FROM SPRINGFIELD

HONOR THE VETERANS

This is to Sunday’s “Banners for Everybody.” I agree on congratulating Brookhaven for their beautiful and honorable banners. However, I do not agree with giving adults participation trophies for everyday careers. I’m proud of Brookhaven for honoring the veterans who risked their lives for their country and for the freedoms that we all enjoy daily. God bless the veterans and their families. DONNA IN BROOKHAVEN

BUT OBAMA

When are the Democrats going to get their act together and stop acting like little crybabies now? They are saying Trump hasn’t made a statement about these killings. He did say there’s no place for hatred in our country. Do people remember when Obama was president and he was in New England golfing? ISIS would killing Americans and it took days before Obama said one word. Then he went back out to play golf and he was laughing about it.
