It’s Republicans who have shame

-

To the Times: After reading the Aug. 9 guest column by the retired police officer with a Ph.D. in public policy, public safety, and disaster management, I feel compelled to challenge. Seems there’s one disaster he failed to manage and that’s his column with its plethora of narrowminded hypotheses and alternative facts.

I’m not liberal and I don’t possess a Ph.D. but I must speak out against Mr. Boyden when he says the Democrats have fostered a climate of violence against those who politically disagree with their point of view. It seems to me that is page one in the Trump lie, deflect, and con playbook and that is, to accuse others of your own deplorable behavior. Boyden says “Democrats failed to rally against the violent tactics of Antifa.” Antifa’s primary goal is to neutralize neo-Nazis and white supremacists. Have Republicans not failed to rally against the tactics of these violent right-wing groups?

He writes of “Obama’s anti-police rhetoric he espoused in his eight years in office.” It appears this retired cop could benefit from a little sensitivity training, sensitivity to the truth. Obama never spoke out against police in general, just the ones that were shooting unarmed citizens with little or no accountability.

Boyden believes liberal Democrats love to exploit the tragedies of mass killings to castigate President Trump and create a new “boogie man” white supremacy. He says white supremacy is the new smoke and mirrors created and used by the Democrats and is another tool that the Democrats are using to divide this great country.

It’s a fact that most domestic terrorism is perpetrated by white supremacists, says FBI Director Wray.

On the second anniversary of the Unite the right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, where neoNazis and white supremacists gathered and the result was one protester murdered and dozens injured, Robert Boyden decides to make light of this murderous clan of killers. How dare you.

You sir should take a look in the mirror and hopefully be ashamed of what you see.
