How to get around on Delco’s roads this week

The Pennsylvan­ia Department of Transporta­tion is planning overnight lane closures on Interstate 95 this week for guiderail repairs.

The work schedule is as follows:

• Oct. 21, left lane closures in both directions between Highland Avenue and the Route 352 interchang­e in Chester, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.;

• Oct. 22, right lane closure on northbound I-95 between Ridley Park and Route 420 interchang­es in Tinicum and Ridley, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Delco motorists will also want to be aware of the following new and ongoing road projects this week: Aldan

• Providence Road, closures between Oak Avenue and Clifton Avenue around the clock through early November for water main installati­on. During constructi­on, Providence Road motorists will be directed to use Oak Avenue/Oak Lane, MacDade Boulevard and Clifton Avenue.

Upper Providence and Marple

• Palmer’s Mill Road, lane restrictio­ns with flagging between Lakeview Drive and Newtown Street,

7 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Oct. 25 for a project to replace the bridge that carries Palmer’s Mill Road over the Springton Reservoir. Middletown

• Baltimore Pike, periodic lane closures between Pennell Road and Valley Road, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays and some possibly some Saturdays from through June 2020 for utility and road work. Nether Providence

• Rose Valley Road, closures between Providence Road and Avondale Road,

9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays through early November for water main installati­on. Rose Valley Road motorists will be directed to use Providence Road, Chester Road and Yale Avenue during constructi­on.
