FLIGHT FROM REALITY

Are there any intelligent Democrats in the county that condone the hatred and the resistance that your national leaders constantly generate in Washington, opposing our president? They’d rather fight a civil war than do the legislation they were elected to do. They are still trying to overthrow our duly elected president and can’t accept that their candidate lost. RIDDLEWOOD KEN

GIVE HIM AN ‘F’

To “Don’t Slam Realtors:” “Roadkill65” was not slamming or criticizing Realtors, He was defending the title “Realtor” (and those of us who honorably have earned that title) when he addressed the author of “Respect Must

Be Earned” who was slamming Trump an identified Trump and his son-in-Law as a “shady Realtor and another shady Realtor” respectively. “Roadkill65” has carried that title for the past 30 years. I suggest you read the Sound Offs “Respect Must Be Earned” and “Show Some Respect” again. You failed your reading test. Go back to fourth grade. WLKGDEAD 1/9

BOXED IN

Another Comcast complaint. I’m another one of those senior citizens who had TCM taken away and I had to get the box. Now ever since I got a box I have trouble with the volume. It’s up to 100 and it’s not what it should be. Has anybody else had this problem? Comcast seems to be saying they can’t do anything about it, that it’s the individual stations.

CALL IT TREASON

In Sunday’s Sound Off, “Patriot” accuses the Justice Department of being “traitorous” because they perceived the actions of Trump and his campaign as illegal and therefore investigated what happened during the 2016 election. Many citizens agreed with their estimation and they still do now. That does not make them traitors. The definition of treason is any attempt to overthrow the government or impair the well-being of a state to which one owes allegiance. The Justice Department was not trying to overthrow the government. They were investigating the possibility of a crime. But treason is also the crime of giving aid or comfort to the enemies of one’s government. Russia cyber-attacked our country during the election. The Trump associates, and Trump himself, aided and abetted them in this crime. That was an act of treason. ARC FROM WALLINGFORD

FLUSH HER OUT

Hi, “Jeanette G.” I must admit I am quite impressed. You are a trooper. You went to school without meals and air conditioning and wonder how many others over 50 did the same. Well, I’m 68. I had no air conditioning throughout my school years. But meals were available, so I guess I wasn’t as hard core as you were. Yes, I had to pay a bit for stuff. A quarter for a soda and a small amount for the barely edible food that was offered. But you’re probably talking about “free meals,” aren’t you? Because we know that there are no kids in our country who need such things — and wonderful troopers like yourself have to pay for them via taxes, don’t you? Outrageous. So — how many people over 150 had flush toilets when they went to school? Anybody? I’ll bet few did. So why should today’s wimpy kids have them? JB

BUYER BEWARE

I recently purchased a new car and during the process was ushered into an office to finalize the transaction and signed my name about ten to fifteen times and then was offered the opportunity to purchase an extended warranty program costing well over $3,000, which I declined. The cost was then reduced but this was not accepted as the associate continued on and on explaining the benefits until I finally caved in and agreed, just to get out of the building. Two days later I located the company’s name who runs the extended warranty and told the person I don’t want the plan, please cancel it. Now five weeks after buying the car, the extended warranty program is still in place. My advice to anyone buying a new car when the time comes when they talk about extended warranty get up leave the building and take a break. They will change their tune and then complete the transaction. THE SAP FROM HAVERTOWN
