Haven survives in OT to advance to District 1 Class 3A soccer final
With two minutes to go in regulation, Strath Haven’s boys soccer season appeared to be over. The Panthers trailed topseeded Bishop Shanahan by a goal in the District 1 Class 3A semifinals, and with only two teams moving on to the PIAA tournament, the end appeared to be near.
And then the offense came to life.

Birch scored with 1:26 remaining in regulation and Francis tallied the winner 2:14 into overtime to send the fourthseeded Panthers into Wednesday’s district final against thirdseeded Holy Ghost Prep, a 1-0 winner over No. 2 Pottsgrove in double overtime. The championship game is at Phoenixville High School at 7 p.m.
