Vucevic, Gordon help Magic rally to knock off Knicks

ORLANDO, FLA. >> Nikola Vucevic had 21 points and 14 rebounds and the Orlando Magic rallied to beat the New York Knicks 95-83 on Wednesday night.

Aaron Gordon scored 10 of his 15 points final 5:35 to help Orlando snap a twogame losing streak. Evan Fournier added 14 points, and Jonathan Isaac had 10.

Julius Randle led New

York with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Mitchell Robinson added 12 points, all in the first half, and Bobby Portis also had 12.

Down 80-79 with just over eight minutes left, Orlando limited New York to one field goal and one free throw the rest of the way

Gordon hit a 3-pointer to push Orlando’s lead to 8480 with 5:35 left and had another 3-pointer in the final two minutes.

Orlando, the worst shooting team in the NBA entering the game, shot only

33.3 percent in the first half, but hit five straight shots to start the second half with an 11-0 run. The Magic hit

13 of 20 shots in the quarter and surged to a 72-57 lead.

Playing without top point guards Dennis Smith Jr. (personal reasons) and Elfrid Payton (hamstring), New York got an unexpected 12 points from Robinson

in the first half, but not much else from his teammates. New York led

44-42 at the half. CAVALIERS 117, BULLS 111 >> Kevin Love had 17 points and 20 rebounds, Tristan Thompson scored 23 points and Cleveland defeated Chicago.

Love’s basket on a goaltendin­g call on Lauri Markkanen gave Cleveland a 9190 lead early in the tightly played fourth quarter. His jumper from the left wing put the Cavaliers ahead 110106 with just under a minute to play.

Collin Sexton, who sat most of the third quarter because of foul trouble, scored 10 points in the final eight minutes, including a dunk over Chicago center Wendell Carter Jr. following an assist from Love on Cleveland’s next possession.

Cleveland has split its first four games. The Cavaliers

started 0-6 last season and didn’t get their second win until their 13th game.

Hawks’ Young out

ATLANTA >> Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young has been ruled out of Thursday night’s game against Miami with a sprained right ankle.

Young underwent treatment at the team’s training complex after being hurt Tuesday in a 112-97 loss to the Heat.
