Strong second half powers Cabrini to win

Cabrini rode a strong second half to its second win in as many nights with a 76-60 victory over Wells College in the Finger Lakes Classic.

The Cavaliers shot 62.1 percent from the field overall in the second half (18-for29) and 56.3 percent from

3-point range (9-for-16) to erase a 30-26 halftime deficit.

DJ Smith led three players in double figures for the Cavs with 21 points.

Keith Blassingam­e added 16 points and Voshon Mack pitched in with 10 points and 15 rebounds. WIDENER 82, PSU-HARRISBURG 74 >> Elijah Boyd tallied 18 points and handed out three assists to pace the Pride in the championsh­ip game of the PSU-Harrisburg Tip-Off tournament.

Connor Laverty added 15 points and seven rebounds, Pat Holden had 14 points and Kenny Lewis contribute­d 11 points and 10

Devan Rimmer came through for Widener again.

Rimmer scored five points in an 11-second span late in the fourth quarter to help the Pride hold on for a 7269 victory over Mary Washington.

After Mary Washington cut Widener’s lead to 6562, Rimmer hit two-free throws with 1:41 left and then drained a 3-pointer with 1:30 remaining. Erin Phelan hit two free throws with four second left to seal the victory.

Rimmer led all scorers with 22 points. Phelan added 12 points and eight rebounds.

Men’s Soccer

Nathan Bowman scored a pair of go-ahead goals including the winner on a penalty kick as Penn State-Brandywine closed out its season with a 3-2 victory over Southern Maine Community College in pool play of the United States Collegiate Athletic Associatio­n Division II tournament.

Bowman netted the winner in the 70th minute after a teammate was taken down in the box. Dom Scivano (Interboro) tapped home a pass from Tyler Skaer (Christian Academy) for PSU-Brandywine’s

Freshman goalie Demareste Dorvilma made nine saves in her first collegiate start, but it wasn’t enough as Penn State-Brandywine dropped a 4-0 decision to Southern Maine Community College in the second game of pool play at the USCAA Division II tournament.

The loss brought Brandywine’s season to a close.
