Arts Center: The magic of The Nutcracker returns to the UDPAC for five shows November 22-24. For more than a quarter century, the production by Narberth’s renowned Pennsylvan­ia Academy of Ballet Society has enchanted children and families with its profession­al soloists and many of the region’s best dancers. Highlights of the 2019show include spectacula­r new backdrops. It is family-friendly at 90minutes in length, with intermissi­on, and recommende­d for ages four and up. Show times are Friday (7 p.m.), Saturday (11a.m. and 3 p.m.) and Sunday (1:30p.m. and

5:30p.m.). Pictures with the cast are available after both Saturday performanc­es, while the theater lobby is transforme­d into a winter wonderland featuring Nutcracker gift ideas at all shows. The Blossoming of Me: autobiogra­phy by Roniesha Seaton is being presented in the form of a play to raise awareness to everyday challenges that leads to trauma November 22-24, 2300W 4th St, Chester. Within the play various subject will be targeted such as Mental Health, Domestic Violence, Teen Pregnancy, Social Services, Abandonmen­t and Self Care. It is with great hope that this play opens the eyes of individual­s to see life from a positive perspectiv­e even when things are not aligning. Her mother suffered from a high-level drug addiction and her father encountere­d several jail conviction­s. Roniesha gave birth to her first child at age 13 and was forced to grow up fast not being able to enjoy a normal childhood. The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce: The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce is inviting their members and the public to Taste, Talk & Sip Small a Rally for Small Business Saturday they are hosting at Linvilla Orchards. This event will help kick off the various events and initiative­s going on in Delaware County to celebrate The Shop Small Movement, a national movement created by American Express Travel Related Services Company, Inc. dedicated to supporting and celebratin­g small businesses and their neighborho­ods in which they are located. As part of the Shop Small Movement, American Express launched Small Business Saturday, dedicated to encouragin­g customers to get out and shop small at small businesses the Saturday after Thanksgivi­ng. Attendees of the event will enjoy networking with fellow business people while having the opportunit­y to try samples from various small businesses located in and around Delaware County. Freethough­t Society: founder and president Margaret Downey is presenting a free and open-tothe-public presentati­on entitled “The Tree of Knowledge Project: History, Placement, Challenges, and the Future.” Downey will be using a colorful slide show and short film to highlight about how the design was created and why. She will detail what happened after the Tree of Knowledge symbol was used in 2007as a secular Winter holiday symbol and the religiousl­y motivated push back the symbol generated. Downey will update attendees about what is currently happening across the nation as more and more secularist­s are proudly declaring their lack of religious affiliatio­ns. The presentati­on will take place Nov. 21at the Bala Cynwyd Library (131Old Lancaster Road, Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvan­ia). The presentati­on begins at 7p.m. in the community meeting room on the second floor of the library. Attendees are invited to bring two color copies of the front cover of each of their favorite books. 1974. The non-profit agency depends on the support of our volunteers to help us assist meeting the needs of our clients 24-hours a day. Services to victims include hospital/police interview accompanim­ent, and telephone crisis interventi­on. Volunteers receive a

40-hour training to prepare them for their responsibi­lities and are asked to provide support at least twice a month for an evening or weekend shift. She brings more than a decade of experience in the environmen­tal field to her position at Audubon. Brown spent several years in private legal practice before she joined the Delaware Riverkeepe­r Network (DRN) serving in legal and advocacy roles for more than five years.

While at DRN, she gained a deep knowledge of local conservati­on issues. Most recently, she spent five years with Thomson Reuters, where she oversaw a suite of environmen­tal-law and energy-law resources.
