Newtown Square Library offers art exhibit
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP » The Newtown Square Library will promote an art exhibit that resulted from cooperation between two local non-profit organizations: The Delaware Valley Art League (DVAL) and Garrett Williamson – which operates Garrett’s Way Early Learning Center and Camp Garrett. Everyone is invited to “An Evening with DVAL Artists on Friday, Nov. 15 at 6:30 p.m. It will be an opportunity to meet the artists, watch a demonstration of pastel artwork by Dee Casner, and buy paintings featuring Garrett Williamson.
The plein air paintings were done before the recent Halloween tornado heavily damaged the 4-H barn and property. Fortunately, there were no injuries, and help is gratefully being accepted towards the 4-H barn and facility clean-up. by over a dozen professional artists from the Delaware Valley Art League, an association of 200 professional artists that promotes the fine arts and advances the skills and creativity of its members.
All of the artwork on display at the Library features Garrett Williamson’s 242-acre property. It showcases the variety of Garrett Williamson’s uniquely remaining open space in Newtown Square – from the farmland, to the woods, to the historic mansion and barn which hosts the vital 4-H program. Garrett Williamson exists to create an environment where every child, regardless of their financial situation, can have lifechanging experiences using the historic property as their canvas for learning.
