Win over Iona Prep elementary to Watson, Friars

Tyreese Watson scored

10 of his 15 points in the first half as Bonner-Prendergas­t opened with a 60-37 win over Iona Prep at the All-City Classic at Archbishop Ryan Sunday.

Connor Eagan hit two

3-pointers to tally 10 points, Malik Edwards added nine and Christian Johnson had eight as nine Friars scored.

At Saturday’s Fred Pickett Classic:

CHESTER 54, MCCASKEY 46 >> A halftime deficit didn’t sit well with Karell Watkins, who scored 17 points, including 13 in the fourth quarter, to go with 12 rebounds as Chester rallied.

Rahmee Gilbert and Akeem Taylor added 11 points each for the Clippers in their opener.

Girls Basketball

Caroline Dotsey scored 12 points Sunday to lead Haverford to a 47-14 win over Audenreid in the consolatio­n game of the

Haverford Tip-Off Tournament.

Hannah Clancy chipped in eight points, and Emma Rowland and Chiara MacGillivr­ay added six each for the Fords (1-1). Dotsey earned a spot on the all-tournament team. The Fords held their opponent to just two points in the first half.
