Matthews, Tutzauer lead Cabrini comeback

Cabrini’s women’s basketball team was staring at the short end of a threepoint halftime deficit in its game against Immaculata Wednesday night. But behind Meghan Matthews and Ashley Tutzauer, the Cavaliers came on to post a 64-56 victory over the Mighty Macs.

Matthews was the strong suit for Cabrini

(14-5, 6-0 Atlantic East) with 18 points and six rebounds. Tutzauer tallied 13 points and six rebounds.

59 >> Anna-Sophia Capizzi topped Haverford (14-3,

11-1 Centennial) with 22 points and four rebounds. Julianna Clark netted with 16 points and tallied eight rebounds. Cortlyn Morris was strong offensivel­y and defensivel­y contributi­ng 12 points and 14 rebounds.

DESALLES 59, EASTERN 57 >> Kay Wulah led Eastern (99, 4-3 MAC Freedom) with

LA SALLE 77, GEORGE MASON 65 >> The Explorers had a strong start, with a 24-13 lead at the end of the first quarter. Claire Jacobs topped La Salle (9-12,

3-5 Atlantic 10) with 29 points. Amy Jacobs followed with 14 points and three rebounds.

TEMPLE 66, CENTRAL FLORIDA 65 >> Marissa Mackins led Temple (13-8, 5-3 American) with 22 points and five assists. Ashley Jones notched 13 points. Lena Niang and Mia Davis each contribute­d 12 points to the win.

CABRINI 87, IMMACULATA 86 >> The Cavaliers came back in the second half to tie up the contest and take the conference matchup into overtime. Justin Gans topped Cabrini (6-13,2-4 Atlantic East) with 21 points, nine rebounds, and four steals. DJ Smith followed with 20 points. WIDENER 80, LEBANON VALLEY 67 >> The Pride held the lead over the Dutchmen throughout the match as they went into halftime with a 14-point lead. Jared Peters led Widener

18th consecutiv­e win of the season. Sun Valley All-Delco Vinny DeAngelo topped Swarthmore (18-0, 11-0 Centennial) with 15 points. Nate Shaffer followed with 14 points and six rebounds. NEUMANN 66, MARYWOOD
